Could Facebook have met its match? Google 'to launch its own social network in May'
Google will launch its own social network in May, it has been claimed. The search engine giant will unveil Google Circles at its Google I/O conference in San Francisco, according to technology blog The Next Web. It is thought the network will allow users to selectively share content with people who are members of different social circles in their lives. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencete...met-match.html |
Google's gonna do it, Google's gonna do it, Google's gonna do it
so sick of hearing that |
So this is gonna be what, their 3rd try? 4th try? What happens every time? Oh ya, they fail... :1orglaugh
Buzz?
:1orglaugh |
its all kinda crap...technology wise there is nothing that is keeping 20 companies in adult from making a social networking site as well.
its about getting everyone to use it...right now facebook has everyone, well not worldwide but close korea has cyworld, high5..etc etc... so..its just getting the people to use, facebook is leading right now, i predict their popularity to fall, and it is perfect timing for someone else to come along with a new shiny bauble |
When Google innovates Google wins. When Google just copies a good idea ? miserable failure. . |

Back in the day, I thought nobody can beat myspace...but look what myspace has become after facebook. Facebook might be gone soon also.
over here every tv ad ends with "Find us on facebook" and has a facebook logo, even billboards to banks and cheese have the facebook logo, its crazy
Orkut was great until it was taken over by South America.
I'll be keeping a close eye on GoogleMe for one very good reason - while Google hasn't flat out supported porn in the past, it doesn't seem to target it like facebook and myspace have. I think as long as you stick to their rules they seem to let us have far more freedoms. Let us hope that is the case with googleme as well.

Android was purchased and looked a lot like Blackberry OS. And then Google redid the UI to look more like the iPhone. Every move they have made on Android since then has made it a cluttered mess. The idea that it's "open" is the only thing it has going for it. |
If they can integrate it into the Android platform and leverage the marketshare they've gained in a short period of time with the mobile platform, they will come out ok.
though i laugh, i wouldn't be surprised if google did it this time.
- google DOES know how to make a nice product (though usually for geeks) - they've had several chances to learn from their mistakes - facebook is a little too big for its britches...can only go down. i'm already over FB and haven't logged into my accounts in over a month lol - people are always looking for the 'next' thing, and like someone pointed out, it's just a matter of getting people to use it. any social network can be the next thing if it has that one bell/whistle that the other doesn't have. |
I hope they allow adult.

google circles taking over facebook is like bing taking over google...
Wait and see.
Or the Zune knocking off iPods...
yey one more site to share all my private stuff
Well they've already go the linking of everybody sorted through android phones, just need to work out how to get them to go through google for everything and never get as far as facebook.
I don't give a fying fuck...
You know how much shit google produces that goes nowhere, also porn would kill any service like that, facebook is successful because it doesn't allow porn
i hated it when buzz started to pull information from all my google related accounts and share it. google is even more tone deaf than facebook when it comes to privacy.
What ever happened to Google Buzz? Not often we see Google fail.
i cant see it being bigger myself, but who knows, im probably wrong!!
