Hosting Providers - DMCA, Piracy, Content Theft
A Question for other hosting providers. How do you deal with piracy and content theft?
For example, we review all of our customers websites, but we don't go into their members areas or snoop around in their files. How do you protect your customers, but also stop piracy and content theft? Do you guys wait for a DMCA notice, or other take down notices? Thanks, Anthony |
All hosts should have a THREE STRIKE policy.
If 3 DCMA notices are sent, in any amount of time, and they are not successfully disputed, the account is terminated. It is disappointing hosting companies, and billing companies, are accepting such clients. |
@DWB, You make this statement "It is disappointing hosting companies, and billing companies, are accepting such clients." Yet you started by giving them a 3 strikes and your out. How does 3 Strikes help prevent piracy, all it does if give the "customer" time to relocate to another hosting company, and still does nothing to prevent piracy. I mean how do we as a hosting provider know what is or is not pirated?
