If you asking this now, don't bother, what ever name you would want is already taken, even your own .com's

Think of all of the idiots who buy and hoard thousands of domains and over price them 100x more than what they are worth trying to sell them... those people alone have already preregistered anything worth having.

Also, if it is a generic name (non trademarked like playboy), say "freesex" for example, do you think icm is going to give that to some for regular registration cost... I highly doubt it. No way they going to give that to some random person for $100 who is then going to turn around and sell it for tons more. ICM, the greedy bastards they are, they going to auction off the good names. Or at the very least they will give it to their "friends" who either supported them through this or who will give them a kick back under the table.

I found the site and it seems to imply if you have the .com you would be the first pick. Not sure though. Just want to try and get a few so that I am not totally out of business if this gets ugly.

Their sunrise policy is pretty standard which prevents this from happening.
Every new TLD/ccTLD goes through this same cycle.

After reading everything, there apears to be no reason to ever buy a xxx domain.

The registrations are going to happen one way or the other. Even if this sunrise shit is legit and you own the .com and you pay out the ass to go through through process to get the .xxx it's still a registration for them. I'd be shocked if they do it on the really good domains and don't sell them out right. If you have a decent domain and don't reserve the .xxx then someone else is going to get it when it goes to the general public.

Either way we all fucked and this douche bag is going to cash in at our expense. :mad:
