That PR was written before the strikes and in consultation with the allies so the Arab league could get the benefit of the strikes while saving face with uneducated communities.

Obama cuts a deal where the US takes all of the risk and expense of action and then allows his "allies" in the Arab League to wash their hands of the matter and disclaim any responsibility for the whole mess. and it APPEARS that that will never change.

The problem is to sell the "no fly zone" they down played it, saying it meant only stopping Libya from flying their planes. However, a no fly zone really means taking out any offensive weapons that might interfere with the "no fly zone" missile - Meaning it's okay for them to take out any radar installation that would be tracking NATO planes, any building of their intelligence agency that might have to do with intelligence information, etc.

Yesterday on CNN they showed footage of a convoy our air strikes had hit. While clearly I'm not on the ground there and not in the know, the convoy was described as a few tanks and a few SUVs - nothing that would get in the way of a no fly zone.

At the same time these crazy governments and their leaders are quick to make outrageous claims. Just today the King of Bahrain announced that they had overthrown a "foreign plot" to overthrow their government that had been in the works for "decades" but failed to name what country was behind it. That is propaganda at it's finest.

Pity what's happening there coz it is a great little island that unlike other GCC countries (with the exception of Dubai) is wonderfully cosmopolitan.
