1200 bucks for user management install and config??

Just getting quotes on a user management upgrade and install and 1200 bucks sounds a little on the high side. Can anyone tell me if this is reasonable.

The software I am interested in is 100 bucks but the install and config is 1100 bucks extra?

If you can beat that or know anybody who specializes in user management set ups please let me know.

depends on how hard the install is, but yeah that sounds a little on the pricey side lol

Software that cost 11X the price to install?
Find better software?

.

CaptainWolfy 03-26-2011 11:52 AM

what's the software in question?!

Dirty D 03-26-2011 12:05 PM

I would suggest using NATS

ContentPimp 03-26-2011 12:11 PM

that's cheap, not expensive!

That's way high if it's just some script that needs installation.

Well thanks for the response the user management script comes from a place called scriptmates and apparently there is "special programming" required to make the software work with a certain payment gateway. Maybe I should double check and make sure it was not a typo. instead of 1150 maybe the guy meant 150.00 lol

From their own page:

Quote:

Single Website License with installation (US$125.00)
This License is ideal for indiviudals who want to manage their own websites but donot have basic knowledge about internet or donot have time to install the software. We will install the software for you and send you the details on how to start using it.
Maybe you'd contact them to see if it wasn't a typo. Otherwise, no, you aren't being overcharge, you're being SCAMMED. As simple as that.

btw: asp on windows servers? really? :Oh crap

I'll do it for $2400.

Confusing... Seems the software with some gateways is about $150. They seem to charge about $50 to install.. So that would be $200.. But perhaps whatever gateway you're talking about isn't currently supported and so the extra $1000 is to program up the support for it. Even so, that would be expensive.

Sounds like you are doing something wrong...

which script are you buying? which processor do you need it integrated with?

Well I supplied the company with what I thought were necessary details.

Told them I was interested in a user management script that would auto generate logins and pass after billing details were entered and approved by my payment gateway.

Based on sound observation and precise raw first hand evidence I need to fully circumvent 3rd party processors for a while and try direct billing with my own payment gateway.

I was advised I would need a good user management script and to check out scriptmates.

Found a script on scriptmates that was compatible with my gateway and could require some extra programming.

So I send over the details and the first quote I got was 75 bucks for the software license.

They mentioned to just pay 75.00 and then they will program it to work with my gateway.

So then I asked how much to have it installed, configured and running succesfully and the price went from 75.00 to $1150.00

This is my first encounter with my own user management script and it is not familiar territory so I was hoping someone could give me a ball park figure for what this would cost.

If can get it set up and am happy with the results I will completely discontinue relationships with all my 3rd party Processors.
