Who do you like in the Canadian election?

Canadian government brought down, another election.

So it's Pierre Trudeau and his running mate Alex Trebek for the socialists against Mr Dressup and Don Cherry for the republicans.

As of the new leader (Brade), CAP has announced new interim policies shifting the traditional priority emphasis from monetary reform policies to issues of biological threats, compulsory vaccinations and aboriginal affairs.

I think after it's all said and done ,the fucking people will vote Harper back in,such a waste of time and money

Si 03-27-2011 01:31 PM

I'm not a citizen yet but I would vote Harper.

People don't want an election, and they will probably vote against the idiots that caused it. Will either give Harper a majority or go back to another minority most probably.

Waste of time, let it run its course and then vote after a PM has actually served his term.

I'll Vote anything but Harper he's already winning anyways so why give him full power? Conservators brought themselves to elections so they could win a majority government I won't re compensate them for that

spunky99 03-27-2011 04:27 PM

harper will win probably with a majority this time, liberals dont have a leader that can win and ndp will continue their path of uselessness

Socialism is a form of corruption, so yes.

DaddyHalbucks 03-27-2011 05:25 PM

Look what a corrupt Mexican government has produced on our Southern border. Although, it is hard to imagine anything quite that bad up North.

You are quite mistaken. The governement was defeated and Harper had to absolve it based on the non-confidence vote after the budget. Harper doesn't want this election, neither does most of Canada.

We're going to waste $300 million on this election because Ignatieff wants an election. When its all over you are going to see almost the exact same numbers and nothing will have changed except the loss of $300 million where it could have been put to better use.

BlackCrayon 03-28-2011 07:57 AM

i hate a lot of the bullshit the conservatives want to push through if they had a majority. i want things to stay the way they are. i'd sooner not vote at all really. any party gets a majority and they pass moronic stuff that is too far right or too far left.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 03-28-2011 07:57 AM

Americans bitch about Canadians butting in on American politics, at what point do you have any valid argument whatsoever in this matter? lol. At least we know what's going on with American politics, it's crammed down our fucking throats every day. I'd venture to bet 80% of Americans or more couldn't even tell you who the Prime Minister is at any given point in time. Another big lol to Americans bitching about socialism like we're the fucking communist threat still. That's all any of them know, that we're commies. :1orglaugh Whose dollar is in the shitter right now? Whose unemployment rates are skyrocketing? You, you. Who survived the recession basically unscathed? You, oh wait, no that was us this time. Guess a mixed government isn't all that bad afterall. :1orglaugh

I heard its closer to 300 million. What I think is deplorable is that the early polls show that the liberals have no chance of pulling off a win.

There should be some sort of system of checks that you have to pass through before calling for a non confidence vote, when you haven't got a snowflake's chance in hell of changing anything.

$100mil is MUCH cheaper than the crazy military buildup Harper has been doing. And he wants to fill the prisons & build new ones, which will cost countless billions/year. And reducing the GST is costing what, $5+bil/year? The $150bil+ that Harper put in debt completely destroyed what the Liberals paid back since 1997... in interests alone this mean billions of dollars over time.

Harper is a Bush wannabe - all for censorship, military might and insane budget deficits. $100mil is cheap to try to mitigate the damage he's already done ;)

the NPD and Liberals should merge and then they can win a majority. Harper only won because there are 3 parties on the left and only one on the right. The majority of Canadians lean left, yet we're governed by the religious right? Bullshit!

Its ok Chris, Ignatieff and Layton believe that the Canadian taxpayer loves to foot the bill for these things, or we could just borrow the money from China.

Agent 488 03-28-2011 08:27 AM

the shit harper is doing with prisons, police and military is bullshit. who wants to live in a canada like that? fuck that guy.

'The March, 2011 contempt citation case involved Conservative MP Bev Oda.[3] While she was found to be prima facie in contempt by the Speaker, Oda was not formally held in contempt because Parliament was dissolved before a vote could be held on the matter'

might be wanting to speak to the conservatives about that

how much money did you really want to spend on new prisons for a minimum prison sentence?

prisons, i might add, that were being refused info on how much they cost

The system is a mess so I expect to see another minority conservative gov't. But the liberals etc, could be sorry and we could get a conservative majority.

agreed...hard to continue to vote Liberal when they don't really bring in a leader that's actually a leader...someone I'm prepared to follow to hell and back..have not had a leader like that up here in a while...

Ignatieff is awesome. Liberal party elite wants to run an elitist from America and Harvard professor during a crippling recession. Best part is he's a blowhard, like a mix between the worst aspects of John Kerry and Bob Dole.

I'd bet on another minority. If there are no major screwups, a conservative minority. If the conservatives screw something up, a liberal minority.

People who vote conservative and people who vote liberal are still cemented in who they are going to vote for.

What has he really accomplished ?

Bringing us back in a yearly huige deficit counts as a positive for you?
Giving a 50 billion ( or whatever the ridicilous amount ) to buy fighter jets ?
Being part of fraubd during the last election ( party financing ).

WE have to pick the lesser devil, and in this case it is Ignatieff ... tough I am not even a liberal ...

As someone who follows politics closely, the Harper administration is very dangerous. In no way, shape or form should they be put in a position of full power. The policies he would adopt would be agaisn't what I beleive in : more power to the corps, less to the people, aligning himself with the american way of doing things. He's playing the shady politics Republicans playing in the US right now. Right wing nuts...

On the other hand, Ignatieff is somewhat of a genious, but he has no place leading a party, he's not charismatic or enough of a leader.
