Krabi was hit pretty hard I see.
I have a lot of friends in Thailand, the trouble is, when it rains, it rains alot. It can rain in one hour as much rain as we see in some parts of eastern Australia in one year. |
Im in Phuket, and transit between Bangkok and here by road has been disrupted since Saturday. All freight companies have the route shutdown. Phuket is fine though, just lots of rain.
|
Should also add Samui on Koh Tao have been completely cut off for days. Koh Tao especially hard hit as they depend 100% on boats for supplies. Koh phangan also probably fucked but at least the backpacking hippies will get a bath:)

These kind of threads are funny
lol Chances of a farang living in that region of Thailand is slim to none I doubt DWB lives in the entire country of Thailand, but he lives in 1 neighborhood, probably 1 of a few diff places At least you specified Thai tho, some westerners worry about "those there in Asia" |
holy shit
|
I hope he's allright. :pimp
|
Long live DWB ...
|
Yup, I'm fine, thanks for asking! But a lot of people have been without power, water, gas or food for about a week. Real nasty in some parts.

By "cut off" I mean no power, no gas, running out of drinking water, running out of food. That's the shitty thing about island life, when things go sour, you are up shit creek if you're not prepared for it. I'd at least keep 2 - 4 weeks supplies if I lived on an island. |
of course this happens when i go on vacation there... fuck

He is the guy at the bar with the Life Preserver on.

400 miles to the nearest beach but Laos and Cambodia is only around 75 miles away but we have 15 7-elevens, multiple KFC's, Pizza place and cheap beer :winkwink: |

Little known fact. Thailand has the 3rd largest number of 7-11s in the world. But when you're here, you'd swear they are #1. I know one area where I live where I can stand in one 7-11 and see THREE MORE within walking distance and TWO other competitors between them! All of this within the distance of a football field, maybe less. Then, out of sight, and only because the street curves, is two more 7-11 stores and 2 more competitors. Total fucking madness. |
Any Walmarts yet? I didn't see any my last trip. I did see a new Hard Rock opening in Phuket.
|
It sucks, fortunately I'm not in Tailand right now...

I would be interested to see how Walmart would do here. We have a chain called Big-C that is the same concept, but a little smaller. Another called Lotus, which is as close to Walmart as I've seen. Very popular. I'd blow half of boys town for a few Papa Johns though. Get a serious craving for their pizza sometimes and the nearest one I've found is in Shanghai, China. We waited over an hour to be seated there and it was totally worth it! |
DWB I have a joke for you to entertain all your Thai friends.
I believe I made it up myself, but I will not be seeking royalties. Joke starts Why do Thai cats always look so skinny? Because, when you try to give them food they say mai ow Joke ends I thank you. |
sunshine today phuket. Prepare your penis.
