Google's socialized search goes one step further -- introducing the +1 (aka G's version of FB LIKE)

I posted earlier about Google's moves regarding crowdsourcing search results. They've already included twitter/facebook shares in previous months. This time, they've gone the extra step and are rolling out the +1 feature.

Read all about it in the source below. My read on this: have they made this blackhat-proof? We don't know.... :winkwink::1orglaugh:Oh crap

Our goal at Google is to get you the most relevant results as quickly as possible. But relevance is about relationships as well as words on webpages. That?s why we recently started to include more information from people you know?stuff they?ve shared on Twitter, Flickr and other sites?in Google search results.

Today we?re taking that a step further, enabling you to share recommendations with the world right in Google?s search results. It?s called +1?the digital shorthand for ?this is pretty cool.? To recommend something, all you have to do is click +1 on a webpage or ad you find useful. These +1?s will then start appearing in Google?s search results.

Exactly.

I give it a few weeks before you start seeing such proxybank services start popping up at all the bh exchanges/forums out there.

No. A summary of all their prounouncement from their blog and from Matt Cutts indicate that this is just one part of the "secret sauce". I suspect it will get bigger. The key hurdle is how to spot trustworthy social graphs from fake ones.

If anyone needs mainstream backlinks, hit me up at [email protected]

It's interesting but for the moment It only seems to show the +1's to the people you are connected to and if they have created google profile.

I wonder how I can automate and abuse this feature in the best possible way...

Possible April Fools joke ? I notice the NZ Herald article is dated March 31 but it only appeared after midnight NZ Time, April 1.

ok if there is no some filter to block it, spamers will buy xK of g! accounts, enable like option +1, bust their rankings and sell servicer to others, end

Isn't wikipedia something like 86% incorrect? Thats what "crowdsourcing" seems to get you is all I'm saying.

You cannot just go in and say the sea is pink. You can go in and say something like the Aurora Borealis reflecting in the sea causes a pink reflection in the Northern Hemisphere, thus giving the illusion of the Blah Blah Sea being pink.

Hehehe good one, Pete

I'd like also block this site button, to block some useless sites that always get in results...
