My new website...could use some professional opinions

I am about to launch a new website within the next 2 weeks and I was hoping to get some professional opinions from all my GFY peeps.

I don't want to be accused of spamming, so I wont post the domain in this thread unless there is anyone really interested in checking it out.

So, if anyone would care to check out my new site and let me know their thoughts, I would really appreciate it.

Keep in mind it is still a little bit buggy in some places and it is still in the QA phases.

Just bought the domain a little less than 2 years ago...I want to see what I can do with it before I sell it.

nice domain, site doesnt really fit domain for me everybody is doing free porn videos, good luck with your sales on that, look like your using full length you will get alot of traffic maybe you can hope to convert adspace, decent design what script? Where did you (cough) obtain your content? Popcorn out for that question...

Yea, I'm hoping to try and make some cash on some of the ad real estate as the traffic begins to grow on www.Bodycom.
I think it's pretty obvious I'm not attempting to re-invent anything, I'm just trying to see if I can get in somewhere while there might still be time...plus, I thought the great domain name would really help with the branding.

The design is a proprietary script that my team in Florida and in the Philippines came up with together. It's really just influenced from a bunch of other good scripts we dabbled with in the past. I don't think it's totally original, but I really like it.

The (cough) content...who am I...what is this place?!

hm man what a great domain, but i think you will have to put there something really special to make as much money as you will make selling the domain ... imho on sedo auction you can make a bank, you got a nice gem in your hands, do not waste it with stupid boring free porn, sell it! :winkwink: :2 cents:

There are TONNES of add on useful products, tools and advice.

Dating corner, sex advice, clothes, body mass index calculator etc., healthy body, grooming products, body lotions... get some writers for the magazine then you have a thousand knick knacks to sell!

I honestly just went the easier route of building a porn site since that is where most of my experience lies. I'm really keen to give it a good try for the next year-ish and see if anything comes of it. Otherwise, I may sell the domain or build a more robust site around it.

I agree, don't "taint" the domain with adult. You've got a ton of potential in mainstream with that domain.

Not sure if you want to share or not, but I would be curious to know what you paid for the domain? If not, I understand.

Great domain, probably not what I would associate with the domain body though, go down health care route etc or sell on must be worth a fair bit :P

With a domain like that you're sitting on a Goldmine and wasting it in adult. Cam Girls and Fiddler have the right idea.

The decision to go with a porn site was just because it was something I have the majority of my experience in and I could get something cool up and running fairly quickly.

I already had a ton of content hadn't used that I had purchased over time from previous projects. There is also a decent amount of user submitted content through out the site as it has been getting a small amount of organic traffic over the last few months.

In any event, as I said before, I'd rather just hear what you all think of the actual website itself...design, functionality, etc. It would be good to get the advice and opinions of my respected peers in the business.

Also, i'm interested in purchasing traffic to Body.com for when we go live in a couple of weeks...so please let me know what you might have for me!

I'd just prefer to know what you and everyone else might think of the actual site itself...dont really need to hear anything about the domain.

in the homepage i think you need to move the quick links box from the left to the right, so you can have more videos on one raw.
i'm looking it from a mac book 13" and i can see only two video per raw, row ... wth i don't remember ... lol

'Body.com' is a health and fitness domain. Not sure it's ment to be a website reminiscent of Pornhub.

Seriously, I would ask Victoria's Secret or a body building giant like Golds Gym if they're interested in purchasing the domain. :2 cents:

Sex.com is still the best example of a wasted domain but Body.com is closing fast.

Honestly, if you have a domain like body.com, and your best idea was to setup a free tube site on it, I'd just sell the domain. If you're not going to sell, I would immediately take that site down. There's crawlers archiving your site everyday, so in years from now, people will be able to see what your site looked like today. You're greatly devaluing the domain by having that site up there.

Then I think you got some excellent advice above. The fashion magazine is the one I'd probably go through, because the opportunities to monetize there are almost limitless. If you do it right, you could be a multi-millionaire in a year from now. A tube site isn't going to make you that kind of money though.

You are putting a huge limit on your potential success making it an adult site IMO..

IMHO, a waste of bytes and money. Design is beyond horrible, slow as hell, half of the video captures aren't loading, lots of empty space, 0 marketing... I would fire the designer, the coder, whoever gave you the idea an adult site is OK for this domain and start from scratch with a non-adult site. Don't bother in buying traffic for what you have now, you'll fail miserably, it looks like a half-done site at best.

You should let me design and develop the site for you. I can also get investors backing it. I have a few good ideas actually.

You need someone to step in and take over. You're wasting a gem with massive brand capabilities also.

I remember seeing this site last year or so and wondering why the domain was put to such use, but I remember that at least it had a great professional design.

Maybe you should contact the previous owner and ask for that design, the current one is really awful and full of errors. If you're going the wrong way with this domain, at least try to save something

Great domain, boring usage of it. A domain like that has so much more potential then a full scene tube script.

Try doing something totally different. Also it would help if the focus was on "body" and not just random clips you found.

I would take Meta up on his offer, you need a 1st class design/consultant to go with a domain like that and definitely do something mainstream. The current site just looks like one of those free tube scripts with a cheap logo, poor design you see on a 10 dollar domain. Your domain is general enough to do a broad range of ideas, anything from the fashion mag idea to a diet-nutrition guide/resource/directory. All providing tons of ad and affiliate avenues for revenue generation.

It's one of the best domains ever, but completely wasted on an average looking site and a niche that's not relevant for the domain.

Like others have said, sell the domain or put a health/fitness site there. If you want the domain to be adult then Playboy style would be far more relevant

Also whatever site is on that domain should be superb, a domain like that needs a professional design with top quality content.
