Need a career change? Move to something Wedding related
So while on vacation in Italy a few weeks ago, I got engaged (yes, I know bad idea) but now having to deal with all this wedding stuff... WOW this shit is expensive!
Even the "not so glamorous" venues run about $1,000+ to rent for a few hours while others ranged from $2,000 to $3,500! WTF! Food and alcohol... don't get me started on that. It would be cheaper to just take everyone to the Olive Garden over some of these places and the food choices aren't all that great. Looking around a bit more we found some nicer and even cheaper places, one being a country club near where we live. Even with that, still sucks the cost involved but trying to keep in mind, that I'll be able to recoup some of the costs with gifts and presents :1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
Las Vegas - Drive Through Chapel

I think it does billions a year, it's a huge racket.. I mean business! lol
Oh, and congrats! |
Check around for venues that offer their facilities for free if you buy the reception food and drinks. See if they offer any wedding planning services or if they will allow you to bring in your own decorations and have their staff set it up at no additional cost.

If I ever get married I'm doing a drive-thru in Vegas.

The nice thing you get the ENTIRE club house from 2pm on that day and the wedding planner told us he's been there at late as 2am in the mornings. You can't bring your own alcohol or food, but their prices for food are very reasonable and with booze, if you pend $1,000 on their bar (is a consumption or cash bar) the venue is free. He showed us some pricing on open vs consumption bars and the consumption bars were always less, and he has 2.5 years of data, so I'll take his word for it :1orglaugh Plus, I can make it beer/wine only and cash for liquors, or even have liquor for certain hours. Still, after all said and done, its a big expense either way. Just sucks that I'll be the one footing the bill :disgust |
