Best FTP program for uploading ...
Having a lot of issues of late with CuteFTP, and also tried Firefox FireFTP and GoFTP but without success.
Our problem seems to lie in when a file finishes uploading, it stops the queue. You have to re-connect and start the queue again. Can anyone recommend a good ftp program for uploading? |
Filezilla :thumbsup

I use CoreFtp it's free and it's pretty good.

|
filezilla for uploading lots of files. it uses several connections at once so your queue gets done a lot faster
|
I'm getting annoyed with filezilla because of this MLSD timing out.

I am using Bullet Proof FTP for over 10 years :)
|
For anyone using anything other than filezilla, does your client of choice actually use multiple connections like filezilla? I hate the filezilla gui and would love to dump it but when I am uploading a lot the multiple connections really speed things up. I have used flashfxp for years but from what I can tell it won't use more than one connection.

For anyone on a Mac I suggest Fetch, it's great!
|
leachftp been using it since forever does multiple connections like you want.
|
Downloading Filezilla :)

If your queue stops after one upload its probably because the control session (FTP separates control and data) is timing out, generally due to a shitty firewall/router on your side.
In FileZilla make sure you set Edit -> Settings -> FTP -> Send FTP keep-alive commands, as well as in your profiles. |
Never had any issues with transmit
|
FileZilla ;)
|

Give this one a look, FTP Voyager.
Having used most of the ones mentioned in this thread over the last dozen years, this one has proven to be one of the best ones I've ever used and is ridiculously reliable. It's also one of the most solid performers I have used yet for sFTP (FTP via secure shell / ssh2), with steady transfer rates up and own. http://www.ftpvoyager.com/ One of the worst performers I have used has been CuteFTP, although it's been several years since I have used and perhaps that one has improved. I did give Filezilla a try recently, more out curiosity, and thought the interface was very poorly done. That of course if just my opinion, but I am quite happy with FTP Voyager over any others I have tried. One nice thing here is that the interface is very customizable to however you prefer it. |
