The Electric was out for 36 hours. (pics)
We had a huge storm Sunday and then the power went out and didn't come back on till 6am this morning. I didn't realize how much I need the electric till it was gone. :( I was not alone tho 250,000 people had no electric for 24-36 hours, some people still have none.

Wow that looks pretty bad. Glad you're ok. We had some crazy winds Monday night and all day yesterday here on the coast.

That was some freaky storm!

Winds have been pretty heavy here for a few days not. Gusting to about 35 or 40 which is odd for this time of year.

TurboAngel - Freaky storm! Wild pictures. Glad you're ok. :-)
Zuzana - That is quite a picture - love the hole in the clouds you captured. |

I'm around Gastonia. The storm hit us about 1:15 am. It blew a few trees down but wasn't nearly as bad as what you guys got.
Question for the NC people. Do your towns turn on the sirens every time it storms? There was no tornado warning for my location that night but the sirens were going off for about 10 minutes. Why? Every time there's a strong thunderstorm they turn the fucking things on. I'm originally from Kansas. When they turn on the sirens there it's because there was either a funnel cloud sighted or there is a tornado on the ground in the area. I've almost been retrained to ignore the sirens now. |
That happened in my neighborhood a couple years ago. Tress uprooted everywhere, and no power for about 3 days.
There were some MASSIVE trees taken down. One near my house had a crater where the roots had been -- you could stand inside of it and it was over your head. |

My friends son and his wife were up and the flash news on the tv said there were tornadoes so they got into the bathtub and had a matters over them, thankfully nothing happened there. |

but nothing happened, this time. It cooled off a bit though, which I don't mind. |
