Phoenix Forum 2011 Changed my life! - THANK-YOU

This was my 8th time to the Phoenix Forum and just like all the others that happened before this most recent one.....it was productive, fun and never ceases to amazes me.

There are so many people and companies that I like to thank but there are simply to many to state them all. You know who you are though and I appreciate the time you spent with me!(Props to all sponsors and the host of course):thumbsup

With that said, over a light lunch with Bari from Moniker.com, Rainey & Kristi from CommerceGate.com it was discussed the struggle & benefits of quitting smoking. I have no idea why but quitting sounded like a good idea to both Kristi and myself.

I am proud to state that Kristi is on day 4 where as I am on day 1 but that's the hardest part I think....the actual leap to do it.

I wanted to take this quitting one step further and am wanting to raise money for the American Cancer Society........so if you are willing to sponsor me for $1 a day for 30 days of not smoking (for something which is a complete tax write off) let me know.
Donations are being accepted through a paypal account set up specifically for this.

Note - If I fail I will then match every single dollar in which sponsors/donations have been given.

So come on all you out there who always show off your cars and mansions, how about committing to a donation of $30 to a good cause?

Who's first?:smokin:2 cents:

RyuLion 04-06-2011 02:53 PM

Yay!!!!!!!! It was sooo good to see and dance with you again :)

JFK 04-06-2011 02:57 PM

Great seeing you, Yes, I will sponsor you for the 30 day trial:thumbsup Good luck in your quest:winkwink:

I'll donate. My dad died of lung cancer from smoking when I was 6 so I hate smoke and the smell alone makes me nauseous. Plus your cute so how can I say no :winkwink:

Good luck, I hope you pull it off.

Paper_Amar 04-06-2011 03:07 PM

Great meeting you :) Would love to sponsor, hit me up with the details!

Sorry for your loss, that must have been tough.
I appreciate the support and am sure that the American Cancer Society will too!

I'm still setting things up but donations can be submitted

Fabebook --> http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Qui...app_4949752878

If you don't have FB then you can do direct donation via paypal link --> https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/we...52c6e1151bdaa9

2 options - pay now OR commit now and pay after the 30 days....either way, don't matter to me, everything helps and is encouragement for me to succeed especially when I know I am potentially helping others.

Brandon99 04-06-2011 03:19 PM

I use to bite my nails as a little kid.....it wasn't until I started smoking where I dropped that dirty habit. LOL Weird how that is. Now I'm wondering what dirty habit I am going to have without smoking? :1orglaugh

RebelR 04-07-2011 09:55 AM

Donated! Been trying to get the wife to quit for years. Maybe this will serve as some sort of inspiration for her. Good luck on quitting though. Never smoked, so I cant begin to understand how hard it is, but by all accounts, its a tough addiction to break.

Thank you so much for your contribution.
As for quitting, I truly believe that a good support system of people to encourage you as well as "reasoning" to do it helps a lot.
It was why I wanted to fund raise while quitting because then I know that I am not only doing it for myself but to be able to help others in some way just makes it all the more worth while. :)

Thanks again...YOU ROCK!:thumbsup

CaseyCupcakes 04-07-2011 11:05 AM

Well since Jesse and I have no immediate plans of quitting, sign us up for $1/day. Congratulations, mama.

And since I can only imagine how bad your oral fixation is right now, I'll throw in a box of cupcakes for good measure....

PS- Mario....Yay!!! Miss you, buddy!

VikingMan 04-07-2011 11:07 AM

Smoking a pack a day for a year gives you the same radiation as about 300 chest x rays. This is due to the fertilizer tobacco growers use. Cancer rates for smokers were not always as high as the last several decades. Use this info for motivation to stay away from the cancer sticks. If you cannot stop 100% then at least begin to roll your own cigs using organic tobacco.

A great way to kick the urge to smoke is to drink green smoothies (freshly made not that bottled crap sold in health stores). Fill the blender halfway with dark leafy greens such as spinach and kale. The rest of the mix can be other veggies. Make sure to add some fat like olive oil and flax seeds so the veggies digest better and you fully absorb the nutriets (low fat diets are total bullshit). Doing this every morning will make you feel so freaking awesome you won't even be tempted to smoke anymore.

This is what worked for me. Everything else failed.

ArielRebel 04-07-2011 11:09 AM

@Kiwigirls & @Pseudonymous - No I wasn't there this year.. I'm way too busy working on my upcoming affiliate program.. I'm managing 5 girls now so it take time but I'm having a blast :)

Day 2 and eating everything I can get my hands on. I will not fail though....have even sat with everyone outside while they smoke and I don't desire a smoke so that's a good sign right?

Huge congrats on the 48 days of being smoke free. Now whats the deal with the vaporizer?
And I was wondering if those electronic cigs with no nicotine would be considered smoking?
Then again that would just be creating another habit I guess. lol

Kiwigirl 04-08-2011 02:04 PM

I am halfway through day 3.
Have eaten my way through many lollipops and little orbit gum chiclets. LOL

In less than 72 hours I have managed to have 5 people believe in me enough to have donated $30 already = $150 raised so far

Thanks to the following...
