The downfall to sucess, and happyness...

For those of you who know me, know that I started with Splitinfinity years ago, and was pretty much the joker of the board, got pranks pulled on me and overall very serious when it came to business. When I started back in 05 and was introduced to this industry, I was nothing but a young 18 yr old man who drove at that point my prized possession... A 1986 ford bronco 2, which was nick named rusty.

At this point in my life, I had just moved out on my own, had no money, working average 10-16 hour days and my future wife at the time was just a nagging bitch and could not handle the fact that I delt with the porn industry. I was fucking miserable.

However at this juncture in my life I weighed about 240-250 pounds which is big but, overall I was healthy. I could run, I could jump and I could fuck like a champ.

As the years go by, now at 24 years old a lot has changed. I have married that nagging bitch who has become my biggest supporter, and fan. I am also blessed to have a 6 month old son, and I currently live in a 3 bedroom two story town house in San Diego.

I am making enough money to afford all our bills and recently put me in a situation where my wife could quit work and stay at home with our son. I have also started making my name for myself in the local music community and to be honest preforming has always been a dream of mine and in the end pretty much I am happy.

At this point many of you are asking well then what the downfall...

The downfall is that as I become happier and as I have made more money, physically I have become lazy. I do not eat a lot but I only eat once or twice a day if that. I have severe obstructive sleep apena, and I get about an hour a sleep a night at best. My weight has sky rocketed to a whopping 370 pounds and it is funny that you never really realize how bad it is until you have gotten to the point where you cannot take 5 steps without gasping for air.

My point is although I never forgot where I came from, success and happiness can potentially be a fast track to death. I will get healthy again, and I will lose the weight and I am going to do it for myself and my wife and child.

The reason why I post this is because, there are many of us who have fallen really low in life and we do not realize it because we are happy, or we have money . I take these words and suggest to all of you, regardless if its weight, attitude, risky behavior yadi yadi yadi. Take a moment to stop and look at yourself in the mirror with a fresh prospective and see the faults maybe that have possibly put you on a fast track to death, and begin to make the changes before its to late.

Yours,

Everyone fav fat little ewalk.

Nice story. This is actually one of the reasons I'm grateful for living in NE Thailand. Helps keep you grounded.

Sly 04-07-2011 03:50 PM

I don't think I have ever heard anyone attribute becoming fat to their personal success and happiness.

seeandsee 04-07-2011 05:39 PM

it will be hard, it will be like looking the top of mountain, but you can do it, day after day, transform your mind, body, food, all, in 1 yr or more you will say THANKS TO MY BRAVE SOUL, I MADE IT!

Pipecrew 04-07-2011 05:54 PM

I want to get a bronco but the 1 series, in the 1970s. Damn hard to find but they sure hold their value

Agent 488 04-07-2011 06:03 PM

who cares you look like a mutant.

wehateporn 04-07-2011 06:38 PM

We have to view exercise in the same way as we view eating and drinking. If we stop eating/drinking we die

Good story and good luck!

VikingMan 04-07-2011 07:00 PM

Joel if you want to melt that weight off and gain muscle without having to work out like an olympic athlete hit me up. The right foods will transform you fast and you can eat as much as you want. [email protected]

PR_Glen 04-08-2011 06:21 AM

happiness usually comes from a few different areas and health is most certainly high on that list. What's the point of being in love, having money, having a kid if you don't look after the body enough to live a long life right?

someone mentioned lots of walking earlier in this thread, thats the best place to start. Get a dog if you have to, nothing gets you moving like obligation ;)

good luck

Brave post and there are going to be haters posting here just ignore them.
I topped out at 400 pounds and life were hell, nothing is easy.
I were overweight most my life but it got a lot worse when I started working in adult sitting home everyday in front of the computer my weight exploded.

I never were able to lose weight I tried everything and beside my health I never had the motivation, you have a son for his sake lose weight get in shape so you can be there for him when he graduates high school and college.

I ended up taking the easy way and got a gastric bypass I am 240 today and happier than ever.

Start exercising, eat 4 - 5 smaller / healthy meals a day, and don't stop. Don't kill yourself, but make realistic goals and stick with them. Even if it's walking for only 1 hour a day, start today.

I guarantee it will also help you sleep.

If for no one else, do it for your family.

sternyduke 04-08-2011 08:49 AM

maybe a personal trainer and nutritional expert could help you get in shape before it gets worse. sounds like you got the dough. i've seen people change dramatically in 3 months like this guy johnstonefitness.com

Thank you everyone for your kind support, and even toughs who disagree to each there own. Before this post I have already started my goal and 2 months ago i was 392. I am on the right path I just need to keep strong. My first motivation was my child, who just gets wide eyed and smiles everytime I come home or when he wakes up and sees me. I do not want to take that from him, and I do not want to hurt my wife, but she brought up a great point. I have to want to do it for myself as well or I will fail, and shes right. For the first time I believe I can do it, and I will do it. I will post monthly updates on my progress!

Michael O, I have always respected you and even when you worked for epassporte I could tell you cared and you were a good person. Do not consider what you did cheating you did the best thing you could of done for your health. One thing I have noticed as although it was my son who pushed me to beginning this process you do not need anyone but yourself.

Believe in yourself because regardless of anything, being poor, having bad things happen in the end life is a gift a blessing. You have everything to live for and that is yourself.

nice. besides, look at it this way- losing weight is easy, it's not like you have to DO anything, in fact, losing weight is all about what you DON't do- overeat.

good luck man. :thumbsup

Low Carb High Fat - Easiest way to lose weight.

pornguy 04-08-2011 10:01 AM

Life is a seesaw and its always going to be that way.

With a kid though you really have to worry about weight and fitness because you have to be around for them.

Also make sure to put some$$ aside for him.

Your kid is your new motivation.

Success is not the cause. Here are a few tips (I lost 45 lbs with it)

1. http://www.takechargefood.com/
2. Wii Fit+
3. Two 30-45 minute walks a day.

If you don't do something, your kid is going to be missing a dad.

You may have a point that sucess and happyness is to blame over myself, but what I meant in my message is that I become so blind with what i had, i didnt pay attention to the most important thing and that is my health.

Thank you for the link, I will take a look right now.
