for james clikymedia, pics of the filet mignons i grilled [pics]
james was kind enough to start a thread suggesting i eat a steak, sounded good to me since it had been a couple days since the last steak i ate.
dry rub then sear on my 900 degree electric bbq grill, perfect for steaks. http://oi51.tinypic.com/4tms9c.jpg http://oi55.tinypic.com/vfe5vs.jpg http://oi56.tinypic.com/2m6n22b.jpg |

My girlfriend bought me a BBQ yesterday as a gift, she got it assembled for me and everything and brought it home, I cooked some burgers on it after doing the necessary shit you do.
Tonight I'm gonna go home and do some steaks for us. I'm really looking forward to learning how to BBQ some interesting stuff. I'm not much of a chef at all, she does all the cooking in our house. I hope I can learn some nice techniques. |

I'm not into putting things aside from meat on my meat. No marinades, sauces or rubs on my steak, but looks good nonetheless.

Canned tuna is the preferred stored food of the apocalypse. Not steak.

I used to be strictly filet now I prefer newyorks or ribeyes. Ribeye I still find is to fatty most of the time for me. |
electric bbq = an oven..
has nothing to do with cooking over an open flame, which is probably why you are cooking filet migs instead of rib-eye. filet migs dont really cook well on a bbq, there is very little fat in the meat, much better to cook filets in an skillet or broiler. meats like rib-eye or flat iron has more fat which absorbs more of the bbq (smokey - burnt flavor). |
I would like to see what the inside of the steak looks like. I hate to see steaks over cooked/grilled

Dry rub on a filet? I reserve dry rub for the lesser cuts of meat. I only let Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper touch my steaks.

hope you enjoyed it:thumbsup:drinkup
