The FBI Seizes The Three Biggest U.S. Poker Websites

The U.S. Attorney for New York has indicted the founders the three largest online poker companies in the U.S. and seized their websites in a major crackdown on internet gambling.

The indictment charges eleven defendants ? including the founders of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Absolute Poker ? with bank fraud, money laundering, and illegal gambling offenses.

In addition, the domains for FullTiltPoker.net and AbsolutePoker.com have been seized by the FBI and replaced by this pleasant reminder that gambling is illegal.

All the sites come up fine for me....

Sly 04-15-2011 11:41 AM

Websites are working for me and I just tested out the program itself, working fine. FTP. I'll check the poker message boards.

Every web browser stores a cache of the websites you visit (e.g. HTML pages, images) to reduce bandwidth usage and server load. This is called the browser's cache. Clearing it occasionally can free up space on your computers hard drive if it's running low. Since every browser is different, the following sections will outline the steps involved in clearing the cache for several popular web browsers. February 27th is National Clear your Browser's Cache day; although you should do it more than once per year.

Shouldn't an F5 refresh clear the cache of the page?

MetaMan 04-15-2011 11:44 AM

i only get it for: Full Tilt Poker.com

Sly 04-15-2011 11:44 AM

Yeh confirmed, it's happening. DNS was taken over, they are slowly pulling the sites.

The US government is completely out of line on their online gambling stance. They need to wake the fuck up.

adult_text_links 04-15-2011 11:45 AM

man, if only they were a bank... would've gotten off scott-free

why would these companies setup shop in the US? are they stupid?

Agent 488 04-15-2011 11:46 AM

well if they haven't seized yet they will be. the just unsealed the indictment and are "moving" on it.

Sly 04-15-2011 11:46 AM

This message board is getting hammered now so it might be slow, but a private message board that I'm a member of is running fine and they confirm as well.

webair 04-15-2011 11:47 AM

I don't see why they just don't make it legal and tax the fuck out of it...

scary shit that the govt can just move in and seize domains just based on charges. Guilty before innocent.

Agent 488 04-15-2011 11:49 AM

The big boys in Las Vegas have been getting behind online gambling as of late. They want in before it becomes legal and they are pushed out. It will happen, more and more legislators are considering it. Just a matter of time.

It's all nonsense. Millions of people can gamble responsibly.

C H R I S 04-15-2011 11:57 AM

If you're stupid enough to promote an illegal site then it sucks to be stupid.

Imagine if it were a Scat site that got it's billing pulled?

Don't promote illegal sites. Simple when you say it.

Guilty until Proven innocent. Gotta love the new regime

Mutt 04-15-2011 12:27 PM

i think it's stupid that online gambling is illegal, but i don't feel bad for them, it's illegal and they are making money only because everybody else is respecting the stupid law. no point in respecting the law if it's not going to be enforced.

magicmike 04-15-2011 12:32 PM

Pretty big news, i wonder how it will play out.
