After a night of drinking, how do you sleep?

I dont think this is a factor of me getting older, but I think it has to do that I'm consuming more alcohol then I did 10 years ago.

After a long night of drinking I feel drained the whole next day, even if I get in a nap during the day. Going out both Friday and Saturday night (even a Thursday with some drinks) the weekend is just a blur.

I really wouldn't care but never get anything done and Monday comes around to quickly and I start to think of all the things that I need to do next weekend, which wont get done :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Yes, I know going out and partying should be limited so I can get more accomplished, but my question is, anyone else like this too? Feel like a zombie after back to back nights of boozing?

Itchy 04-18-2011 10:27 AM

I think its more because I pass out drunk and don't really sleep!

So to answer the question YES

CurrentlySober 04-18-2011 10:27 AM

How old are you now?

digitalfantasies 04-18-2011 10:41 AM

seems like the story of my life too...

Amputate Your Head 04-18-2011 10:43 AM

Solution: Don't drink. :2 cents:

Ross 04-18-2011 10:45 AM

Lately I have been sleeping real bad after a good night out partying. I am very restless, my girlfriend said my breathing is real heavy. Getting old... 28 in a couple months :(

Nicky 04-18-2011 10:45 AM

That happens when you do heavy back to back drinking. I try to avoid that now day's but sure enough It happens sometimes on the week-ends.

carzygirls 04-18-2011 10:45 AM

Next time you get drunk go to a chinese whore house. The next day you won't be thinking about your hangover :2 cents:

qwe 04-18-2011 10:49 AM

after a night of drinking drink whole gatorade before going to bed, and drink one right after you wake up... does wonders for me, I don't even feel previous night of drinking

Chosen 04-18-2011 10:51 AM

Never drank all night long so I've no idea...

Tom_PM 04-18-2011 10:51 AM

I just wake up to pee one extra time, lol. But.. to me "a night of drinking" might be 3 or 4 beers, so dont think that counts anyway.

_Richard_ 04-18-2011 10:52 AM

not enough water?

ottopottomouse 04-18-2011 10:52 AM

After a night of drinking, how do you sleep?

Better than normal :upsidedow

96ukssob 04-18-2011 10:59 AM

I'm not hung over and make sure when I come back I usually down a gatoraide or few glasses of water. In the morning I feel fine (sometimes still a bit drunk) but just exhausted all day.

I'm 30 and be the first to admit that I am a heavy drinker, but ONLY on weekends and around friends. I used to drink a lot in college from when I was about 20 to 23 I'd put down gallons of vodka and rum a week, then moved to LA and didnt drink so much until probably the last year and picked it up again.

At the same time I'm trying to lose weight so I think this week going forward, I'll limit my boozing to one night a week and even then cut back. Before we go out, we normally "pre-game" which involves me drinking about 1/2 if not more of a 1/5th of rum

Tried that, no fun :1orglaugh

Few weeks ago I had to get up pretty early on a Sunday so friends were in town and we went out Saturday night. I'm not a beer drinker but put down probably 6 during a 3 hour span, so I was completely sober. Never realized how much I hate being around drunk people and loud crazy bars when I'm not drinking

CaptainHowdy 04-18-2011 11:01 AM

When I drink I usually don't remember having slept that night ...

cherrylula 04-18-2011 11:06 AM

6 beers in three hours and completely sober? suuuure.

just because you are a weekend warrior, doesn't mean you don't have a problem... lol

yeah drunk people getting loud and crazy can be really annoying, just like when you get drunk and annoy other people. lol.

and what Amp said. Self control is the key to happiness.

lots of water before bedtime cures almost all hangovers... add in some salty fast food for breakfast and you'll be fine the next day...

I think the water retention helps get the bad out :)

magicmike 04-18-2011 12:06 PM

Alcohol makes you have shitty sleep. But you pass out so for some people thats enough.

prezzz 04-18-2011 12:06 PM

I have no problem sleeping after drinking all night. It's waking up that I hate...

potter 04-18-2011 01:58 PM

Normally I only have one cup of coffee in the morning and that's it.

On work days after a night of drinking, I typically have one or two redbulls as well through the day. ...So yeah, for whatever reason I seem to not sleep all that great.

Sounds dangerously close to me, only difference is I'm 28 lol.

Sarah_Jayne 04-18-2011 02:17 PM

I have never slept very well at all after a night of heavy drinking. In fact, that is enough of a pain for me to try to avoid drinking that much. I hate when my brain is rushing without a real reason and the booze always does that for me.

brassmonkey 04-18-2011 02:24 PM

smoke a blunt

Imortyl Pussycat 04-18-2011 02:32 PM

smoke out before you pass out and you will be fine. it's the cure, i promise

There is a solution called L-ARGININE

AdultKing 04-18-2011 02:41 PM

have an afternoon nanna nap before the drinking session or night out. Works wonders :)

Rochard 04-18-2011 02:43 PM

I quit drinking about four years ago. Cough medicine knocks me out these days.

AnimeFevers 04-18-2011 02:51 PM

I don't, for some reason I have to stay up all night :D

OneHungLo 04-18-2011 04:42 PM

Take 2 of these and 2 full glasses of water and you wont feel half as bad.

bronco67 04-18-2011 04:47 PM

Drink a big glass of water before bed.

In the morning, have a bacon egg and cheese with a Gatorade. You'd think after years of drinking, you'd know these things.

twistedkinkcash 04-18-2011 05:07 PM

For some reason, when I drink a LOT, I sleep like a baby for only like 4 hours and wake up out of nowhere. Its so weird. But yeah, the next day my body just feels poisoned.

Spunky 04-18-2011 05:19 PM

I just keep drinking

BSleazy 04-18-2011 05:25 PM

If I eat before I go to bed and get plenty of sleep I'm fine the next day.

chaze 04-18-2011 07:23 PM

Hopefully in my bed :2 cents:

2MuchMark 04-18-2011 07:46 PM

Easy solution. Learn how to drink!

After a few drinks, learn to buy water along with whatever alcohol you're drinking. The pain and suffering you feel the day after is mostly due to dehydration. Drinking water will help keep your innards moist and help your body process. The next day you'll have an easier time getting rid of your headache or have none at all, and the morning sun won't feel like such a mofo.
