what mouse to use for photoshopping?
What do you guys and silly girls use to photoshop?
I did buy a mouse not long ago and had the choice of only 1 mouse with a normal wire instead of wireless. Problem is only if i try to make nice cutouts sometimes the mouse just jumps a few milimeters to any direction with no reason whatsoever. with or without mousepad? with or with no cord? |

I find that the new photoshop helps one be exact without a top of the line mouse. The program is so smart, its nuts to think about how much development goes into it.
I just use a bottomshelf microsoft wireless mouse. |
and then they will cut out the diamonds when the mouse is broken lol.

Depends on what you use Photoshop for. My favourite mouse is this so far:-

Wacom Cintiq 21ux :2 cents:

I gues i will have to try a trackerball sometime that seems to be the best suggestion.

Looks like a fancy gadget for sure, but it may be a bit over the top for what i need it for but thnx anyway |
You don't need a Cintiq to enjoy Wacom products for Photoshopping. Get yourself an Intuos tablet, they are great once you get used to it. $200 for the small size.

i have the same problem with mice - never had problems with jumpy mice with the old style mice with rubber ball but optical mice just suck, i try without mouse pad, with mouse pad - still jumpy. thought maybe it was virus related but it's not.
i do buy cheap mice - never thought about buying a more expensive one. |
Wired optical mouse.
Bought a tablet ages ago but never got on with it. |

It's GOOD because it's multi-touch sensitive. Your fingers can flick pages, zoom in, move left/right up down. It understands gestures just like an iphone 4 and is very easy to learn and master. It's BAD because its a little too small. I'm 6'3" and therefore have big hands and long fingers and if I position myself so that the back of my hand is on the back of the mouse, the front edge of the mouse ends where my middle knuckles are. In other words, my knuckles are where my finger tips should be. This is a serious design flaw in my head. Apple's mice should be larger in size similar to Microsoft's or Logitech's. Otherwise, it's still a killer mouse. |
Wacom Tablet's rule Photoshop :thumbsup

Bamboo Pen.... And yes - I do recommend it highly. |
I highly recommend using a Wacom Intuos. They are incredible, you will laugh at how much easier it is to be accurate. When you don't want to use the pen they provide a mouse that works on top of the tablet as well.

This Intuos 4. looks quite nice indeed and 200 dollars is better as a whopping $1999 dollars.
BUt still a lot of money if your not sure if it is any good. |
I use this one: http://www.bella-usa.com/HDMouse/

The big one looks realy nice but they charge 600 euros for it lol. And i wonder if the smallest one is any good. |
Trackball over a mouse for any app. Tablet (Wacom) for drawing stuff, but for general photo edits a trackball will do just fine. Haven't tried the trackpad from Apple yet, but if it's similar as the ones on their laptop line then I would not mind using that for a desktop as well.
In short, throw away your mouse, don't understand why people still wanna use it. |
I use a Logitech Laser Mouse MX1100 and it works pretty good but a tablet is next so I can do even finer details.
