cheap assholes a trend?

Sorry, I live in Thailand so its hard to say if theres more cheap assholes or not. I definitely see an increase here in the past 3 years though.

So, is it the same in the rest of the world?

Indications would include:

1. Trying to bargain the price of something that has a fixed price.
2. Offering to pay half now and half later
3. Excuses like "I forgot my money, I will pay next time"
4. Complete ignorance on what things actually cost in the real world.

its nothing new - there have always been and always will be cheap assholes.

i can't even imagine how cheap people could be in a country with such poverty like thailand. its bad enough here. though i tend to notice its mostly foreign people who do this the most.

Idiotic trailer trash from the USA, Canadian yahoos or blue collar euro dumbasses. I see them at the resorts here in the Dominican Republic all the time.

Somebody told them "you should go to _____, you can get anything you want there for like 2 bucks!"

So they fly out there with 2 bucks...

I never pay asking price, I tend to try to bargain anywhere but the supermarket.

My buddy's dad almost got beat down for thinking that big jugs of Tequila cost only $2 in Tijuana. The power of a well-repeated lie to create artificial reality fed by wishful thinking can't be underestimated.

The opposite can happen as well, you order a $18 whiskey, accept the fact that you are sitting on the beach and a single whiskey on the rocks costs $18.

Then they bring you the whole bottle:)

I know several people that seem to think it's perfectly ok behaviour to try this ALL the time.
