wow

Don't forget the telco also has access to this data, since your phone is constantly communicating with base stations to find the best signal. I sometimes wonder if geeks at the telco ever go as far as looking up location data for some random hot chick on FB, so they can "bump" into her at a club or bar that they can see she frequents...

very naughty
|
and here comes upside of iphone, so they can track lost people easily,
|
|
nobody saw this as a natural progression from having a phone that is basically a GPS with calling capabilities? hell some phone companies even offer that track your kid option that shows you where your kid is at all times. i figured this was common knowledge and if you didn't see this coming you're blind.
anytime information is readily available to big corporations they will exploit it until they are caught. just like google and facebook and myspace, etc... they all get caught for using or selling private user information without permission. |

iPhone is only a good marketing :)

wow, how strange.
But at the same time mobile operators track you anyway, so who gives a fuck. |
I thought everyone already knew this? Big deal.... Anyone who follows tech treads and sees what is coming out in the next few years knows why this is happening and is excited about it.
|
Why would they do this?

All phones can be tracked 24/7 now. Get used to it.
I really don't understand what people fear. Unless your planning on killing someone, it shouldn't be such a huge deal. |

You can remove the battery while you dont use the phone if you just can't stand it.
I think auto insurance companies will require chipping your car as standard policy practice too sooner rather than later. |
I dont think its a secret. Iphone & Blackberry has GPS function, which you can turn off. Not sure if there is something else iphone has, but I am to lazy to read the article right now. I am sticking with my blackberry because of the touch screen on ipad and bbm. Truth is, you can be tracked on basically any phone now. They all have GPS.

Its on the news too. Pretty fucked up shit :2 cents:
I know there are some phone manufacture companies that wont make models for the US because of these kinds of things, I believe Nokia has a few UK only models too. |

I thought it's only accessible if you physically possess the phone, or the computer that its synced to? and you can always check off the "Encrypt my backup" box before you sync? |
How to disable your iPhone's creepy tracking feature
We've established that your iPhone is constantly tracking and recording your location without your knowledge or consent, and initially you were helpless when it came to stopping this pesky phenomenon. But now we've got a way to put an end to the creepy tracking feature ? assuming you're willing to use an app unauthorized by Apple. FULL LINK :2 cents: So glad I don't use one of these phones that are tracked. Good luck. |
Interesting, I'm wondering when TSA will start scanning your phone before your flights :2 cents:

What's even more disturbing on the personal privacy issue that I just read this week, is the hard drive in photocopiers - especially photocopiers leased to law enforcement and insurance companies ... they can have thousands of people's entire life on them .... are all easily accessed by people who buy these machines used ... takes about 30 minutes to gain access to the "STANDARD" hard drive ...
|
FYI: Every Android phone does this too. It is not just Apple. :2 cents:

No difference iphone or other mobile phone... just throw it away if you dont want to be located :D
just iphone in addition saves your location to file stored in device... and if you use other phone, i believe your location is saved to file at mobile operator's server :D |
