TRIPOLI, Aug 14 (Reuters) - U.S. Republican Senator John McCain praised Libya's leader Muammar Gaddafi for his peacemaking role in Africa and said Congress would support expanding ties, Libyan state news agency Jana said on Friday.

"McCain and the delegation accompanying him confirmed the importance of expanding further the relations between Libya and the United States. The Congress would back the measures to be taken to achieve this aim,"

Sen. John McCain praised Libya's rebels Friday as he arrived in the opposition stronghold of Benghazi and the top U.S. military officer warned the fighting was heading for "stalemate."

McCain, one of the strongest proponents in Congress of the U.S. military intervention in Libya, said he planned to meet with the rebel National Transition Council, the de-facto government in the eastern half of the country, and members of the rebel military.

There is a very interesting article here about whats really going on in libya...
http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/MD14Ak02.html

One of the interesting things is how good life is in Libya under Qaddaff, free medical, free Universities, the government pays you money to study overseas, gives you $50,000 when you get married, no-interest loans, almost no taxes, cheap food. One of the reasons behind this attack on Libya is the standard of living is so high that other Arab countries are worried it will cause unrest as people want the same as Libya.

Another article I read was that Qaddafi was about to Nationilize the oil and every 12 months send every single person in Libya their equal share of the money. This would have made the Libyan people the most wealthy in the world.
If you look closer, Qaddafi did an amazing job with that country, credit to him. This is why they want to get rid of him, its not in Western interests to have the Libyan people getting their share of the oil profits, because soon other people in other countries will demand the same.

Sounds about right for any stupid politician. A silly old man. He doesnt remember what he said before. Don't we all remember that McCain claimed that he had never called himself a maverick? (cue montage of clips calling himself maverick).
He lost his marbles years ago.
