iframe a sponsor in a hidden iframe and you are setting your cookie. iframe 100 sponsors and you are showing 100 banners that all get clicked ( in a nutshell ) but surfer never see's anything.

oh, yeah, iframe technique is old, just didn't linked the "first cookie" with "iframe hijacking thing".
Still, does that work for them you say? Its easily to detect which will hurt their reputation hard and on the other hand, they would only get credit for typein sales! and depending on which type its, as for example if i type in: brazzers.com, i get directly redirected to brazzersnetwork.com with their code ... Which i think its ok as at the end, they invest a lot on promoting the brand itself. On the other hand, if surfer bookmarked the site and entered using the bookmark button, any serious sponsor ( LIKE I DO ), should save the bookmark address url with the AFFILIATE CODE, so again, surfer goes to favorites, clicks on site bookmark and his linkcode overwrites the cookie :)
So, honestly, that would ONLY work on typeins, are that many typeins joins??? Even google search results would come with an affiliate code attached on the link ....
I think those programs doing that are only hurting themselves ....
Pd1: Just doing some quick thinking, thanks btw, will add this to my affiliates tracking scheme, you could test from within javascript if a page was loaded from within an iframe :) Lots of ways, for example checking the dimension of the window, etc :) If its the case, simply ignore affiliate code or maybe flag affiliate and do an ajax call reporting from where the iframe was loaded for example to check out that the affiliate is currently doing :) Just doing a quick thinking here, i would have to sit down and think about this very carefully as we are talking about tracking affiliates sales, not just a simple design, but again, if a program is SERIOUS AND LEGIT like mines and wants to combat this type of things, it can do it, he just needs a more or less skilled coder :) I will do a code to implement this and once i figure a good scheme i will make it free and publicy it here so any LEGIT program can simply add this javascript onto their sites tours and keep affiliates happy :)
Pd2: On the other hand, for clients not supporting javascript, you are fucked up, but those almost don't exist :)
Pd3: Not sure if anyone know, as i'm not posting at GFY still, but i'm beta testing a new CCBill program with fresh content which has a built in tracking affiliate scheme that tracks cookie disabled traffic, have 365 days cookies!! ( YES! 1 YEAR! ), saves bookmarks with affiliates codes, saves newsletter mails with affiliates codes ( you can test it, you don't need to believe me ), etc .... BASICALLY, i'm very TRANSPARENT, its key for me! PLUS, you can still track your traffic from within CCBill panel :) As transparent as it may get :) So guys! if you have babes traffic and are looking for a legit solid program:
