Making money from a sex offenders site .. Right or Wrong ?

( which I wont post here)

Do you think it is right to be making money form this sort of site when it is listing sex offenders ? I thought the police only had the these sorts of websites ?

i made a site years ago charging people $25 to access those "found money" sites. There was about 4 of them I had complied into a list. If your name wasnt on the list, you got your money back, but never had a problem with it and people thanked me.

Only got a few people that signed up for it and sold the site to someone for a few hundred :1orglaugh

I just dont think its right to con people like this when they can get all the info for free and specially when you have parents with with kids who want to check for thier local pedos

wasn't it the sun or news of the world or some such publication that published a list of local offenders with pictures years ago with a wrong persons details, a vigilante lynch mob turned up at his place...not sure what exactly happened in the end but it sounded scary

Plenty of sites sell information that is free if you know where to look. They are just charging for the convenience of having it there easy to find.

I'm pretty sure the whole idea of the 'whos your nearest nonce' service is slightly pointless anyway seeing as most child abuse seems to end up being reported as 'by a relative'

Yeah there is, but with a site like this How do you even know the people they have on their own list have been convicted.

Worst thing about that was the level of intelligence of their readers meant that they tried to lynch several Paediatricians as they were too thick to understand that they were childrens doctors.

As far as selling info you can get for free, that's pretty much the same gimmick as the free credit report sites.

Anybody can contact the credit agencies and get a free copy of their credit reports once per year. Also, each time you're turned down for credit you can get another free copy of your report. They're just marketing it to people who don't realize they can get it for free.

Those people search sites are another example, and I'm sure there are plenty more.

I get postcards in the mail all the time with sex offenders pics... the majority is 19 year old guys who got caught screwing 17 year old girls and their moms got mad and reported them.

I also know a guy who gave a tattoo to a 16 year old with a fake id and ended up a registered sex offender. For those reasons I personally would stay away, but hey it is public info and I'm sure there are actual real child molesters listed.
