Question for you GFYers...
You are paying X for a web host per month. They want to increase your price by about 500%. They only give you 7 (SEVEN) days to find a new host and move all of your stuff before the new price is charged to your CC.
Do you find this acceptable customer service? |

thats fucked. check the ToS or agreement you have, most are bound to giving you 30 days notice (at least in the states), otherwise Id just change hosts and if they charged me, dispute the charge :2 cents:

I was getting a discounted rate then BOOM 7 days. We aren't talking about hundreds of dollars, it's just bad business IMO.

I don't think I've ever heard of a host randomly increasing prices, definitely not 500%, with no change in customer behavior. Very bizarre. You should share the details. |
It sounds like they need you to move from a virtual account to a dedicated or something like that :)

This is kind of along the lines of why I had to bail on Phoenix Forum this year.
Wasn't as major as our host or a gateway, but had another company we do business with give us 5 business days to switch providers. The thing that really fucking left me agast was the reason they decided to pull the plug was because we caught their account rep lying to us. Talk about some backwards business dealings! Unfuckingbelievable. Anyway, I feel for you. Hopefully you've got everything backed up somewhere else so you can move quickly. Also maybe give Scooter a shout w/ Mojohost. I hear they are pretty top knotch. |
