Meaning the US got off their high horse....another proof that money can do everything :)

Nothing unsual,they blocked usa accounts so they can continue to work as usual.

US players still cant play or get their money back .. thats all that matters

but they gave back the domain, that's what matter, US players who WANT to play can still play with a few workarounds.... Losing US players isn't as big of a hit as losing your main domain.

Us players cant play on full tilt or pokerstars ... there are no "real" workarounds .. the only option you have is to get out of the US .; but that is not a workaround .. but just complying with the no US players allowed rule

Seems as if it would be fairly easy to get around if you had someone you could trust in country where it was legal, ie the EU. Setup an account with that persons name, add a computer at his location, use pc to go to play and connect from the states to that EU computer. This would be a pain for the casual player but I would do this if I made my living this way.

The domains were given back to FTP and Poker Stars so they could pay out American players, that was the stipulation. Poker Stars is now paying out, FTP is not just yet but should be soon.

Nobody is talking about it, but I'm sure people are doing it. Too many people were making a living from those sites to just sit around and do nothing. I've heard there was a lot of geo-IP tracking involved, so it's a little more complex than just getting a fake address and a proxy but there are some creative theories floating around.

I know some people in management over at FTP and they are in no way as organized as Stars is with their finances. I think Stars will pay within weeks (maybe even withint he week). FTP wont pay for a long time if ever. FTP is having MAJOR problems right now.

If you have money on the cheat site Absolute poker forget about it. That money is most likely gone.

My friends brother works for Poker Stars and he says business as usual and it really didn't hurt business much losing US players. Last I logged in they still had nearly 200k people playing, which was just the other day.

This doesn't surprise me as Poker Stars has always been the top in all areas from customer service to payouts. Also from what I heard, they kept all player funds in a completely separate bank account (kind of like how a casino has cash to cover all chips in play).

FTP has always been a distant second to Stars in terms of US friendly poker sites and definitely wasnt ready for what happened.

um yes their is. it's called a server running windows out of the country with remote access to it.
