Yup, it works great.

If you're not using Facebook fan pages to promote your products/services you are definitely missing out.

I wonder if a Fan page for people with VD's would fire up if wall posts got turned on.

I like the bit about the right name. It would be nice if FB also had a description, so that people wouldn't just see you liked "company name"

Note that the new style of pages let you change the name, so you can experiment a little.
