I've got a question as well.

I'm looking for either a netbook or a tablet, it's for travel use mainly. Nothing too biggy, just browsing and emails, battery is the most important factor, what do you recommend?

Theo 04-27-2011 03:47 PM

the new macbook air (near 6 hours battery usage)

WebairGerard 04-27-2011 03:49 PM

if you don't mind shelling out a few bucks then the new macbook air is good choice as the battery life is very good.

Ryan_AFF 04-27-2011 03:50 PM

MacBook Air! It's light, has long battery life and looks really sexy! :)

Fat Panda 04-27-2011 03:57 PM

macs suck, buy a dell

Horny Joe 04-27-2011 04:07 PM

I get 5-6 hours on my Macbook Pro (2011 edt.) when using it rather hard, meaning 2 browsers where both have 2-5 tabs open, PS, DW, filezilla, iTunes, Skype... and then some. I am VERY happy with the battery on this one.

If budget is not an issue get a 15" Mac Book Pro or a Mac Book Air.

If you're a traveling webmaster, definitely go for a netbook, not a tablet. Check this out: http://www.travelingmark.com/reviews...rsonal-review/

Apple products would be a good option if you’re an Obama worshipper. Both seem to work well for people who don’t have it all together and get easily fooled.

Buy a MacBook Pro. (a real computer). :2 cents:

goldassets 04-27-2011 04:21 PM

macbook pro.

Jayvis 04-27-2011 04:31 PM

I own an Asus and love it. Someone from GFY recommended it to me when I was also looking for a laptop to buy.

Django 04-27-2011 04:47 PM

a Mac for sure

Jman 04-27-2011 04:59 PM

I'm thinking of getting an AlienWare just for the lit up keyboard at night.

Don't most people stop saying:

"the thing you like sucks, the thing I like ROCKS"

at middle school?

Cocks.

Some people like Windows, some OSX and some *nix. In other news, some people have foreskins and others don't.

Fucking get over yourselves.

Mac Book Pro is the only option. In case you care.

Fenris Wolf 04-28-2011 05:54 AM

I have two Dell Inspiron and I am really disappointed in their quality. If I had not opted in for their three year warranty one would be in the trash right now.

h3ads.com 04-28-2011 06:09 AM

mac book pro or air .. best option so far

Macbook Air or the new Macbook Pro without a doubt. (used to swear by Vaio, have only powered on my vaio maybe 2-3 times since i bought the Air)
I personally prefer (and have) the Air for its extreme portability and Instant on feature. 13 inch Air gets up to 7 hours of battery life.

facialfreak 04-28-2011 07:53 AM

I have a first generation Acer Aspire One (8.9" screen) ... I bought a 7800 mAh 9-cell battery on eBay, and I get 7.5 - 8.5 hours per charge, depending on what tasks I am doing ...

The double bonus is the battery lifts the netbook almost 5/8" ... making it a very comfortable angle for typing, and allowing airflow to pass under the unit, making it run almost 8º cooler than with the standard 3 cell battery.

Even with the bigger battery, the unit still weighs in at under 3 pounds.

I purchased a new macbook pro 2011 two weeks ago for the same reason, it's expensive, like $2150 for the high end one that i purchased, but really worth it.

After 20 years of being a Windows user and I wonder why didn't i do it before. Always found mac overpriced (and they are for sure, you are paying branding) but I must admit that i'm greatly surprised at the notebook and OS to the point of thinking on getting rid of my home PC to buy an Imac too.

Laptop

Mac Air & Mac OS X are due for updates in June. I need to update now, but am waiting.
As soon as I can replace 2 Windows programs, I will quit using Parallels and kiss Windows goodbye forever.
I have a Mac Book Pro. Great but heavy
I have a HP netbook crap.
Starting a business that requires face to face with customers, Mac Air will be the impress the customer other than the IPad, but IPad won't do Windows.
Need Windows for ACT and Approach Database.
