torrent traffic on the decline anyway. the traffic has moved on. it's like the feds shutting down a betamax piracy operation.

iSpyCams 04-28-2011 09:48 AM

I didnt even know about that one, I thought Cheggit was one of the larger ones since puretna closed

Klen 04-28-2011 09:50 AM

Lol even russians doing actions against pirates, yet in sweden still pirates works without problem.

Agent 488 04-28-2011 09:52 AM

i've come to the realization that everyone who has bet on free has won and those who didn't are struggling. it is what it is.

This was on the news here in Australia on Radio National. Someone was applying pressure in the right places it seems.

:2 cents:

If every single Torrent site came down, it would make little impact to the online paysites industries turnover.

A few people will buy. 99.9999% will go to the major Tubes. The odds on selling them a Dating Site, Cams or Penis Pills are slim. But you can all boast that your traffic went up by 10%-50% :Oh crap

Your income won't.

The truth is few have anything that the user has to buy. He will get similar scenes for free on a Tube site and they're legal. Unless someone changed the DMCA law or showing porn to non payers and enforce the laws, Tubes will continue. And 99.999 of traffic will be there. Soaking up expensive free porn. :upsidedow

The solution is much tougher.

Unless paysites have something seriously worth selling the industry will decline and decline.

The real problem is the attitude of many online people. Fabian boasting he has 20 million a day on his Tube, Robbie about his 1.2 million a day and TheDoc'c belief that free creates surfers which creates sales. None of them think what they could of sold if there wasn't so much free porn available. Even at the height of the business and TGP sites very few converted better than 1-1,000. Not clicks, surfers soaking up free porn. In fact that ratio is probably very generous.

If all there had been was a softcore advert, softcore tour. Traffic would of plummeted by 90% and sales would of sky rocketed by 500%. Costs for satisfying the free surfers appetite would of also dropped.

Why is it so From the beginning most believed selling porn was hard. So they went the numbers game. You heard over and over again the comment "Why do people pay for porn" and "I wouldn't buy it" We had vegetarians selling to meat eaters.

To the customer porn is easy to sell. The number of surfers on your free porn proves it's attraction.

Porn is very easy to sell to it's audience. It's just giving it away for free, that makes it tough.

Dirty Dane 04-29-2011 02:10 AM

Paul, this is a consequense of censorship rather than consumer behaviour like in free and open-minded markets. The people can't buy porn, it's often illegal to produce, distribute and even consume. The torrent site was not pulled to "help" the copyright owners. It was pulled by the moral/religious agenda.

Second, processors decline or block potential customers from those areas threating them as potential "fraudsters" instead of customers. From the beginning. And even if they are allowed, prices of subscriptions often are too high for these countries. The natural consequense is to seek it for free. So, you are right, they will go to tubes, tgps, whatever, but even if all non-infringing and free websites were pulled from internet, it's still not possible to sell the real thing if it is illegal. Or too expensive...

What world do you live in?

Because here in the real world that's a pretty crazy idea that doesn't apply here.

Go away and think about it a bit deeper and how it works in the real world.

Paul Markham 04-29-2011 03:46 AM

When you read things like what Dirty Dane has just wrote you wonder where he's coming from.

Is he in business, how old is he, what's his knowledge of jerk off material and it's availability around the world.

The porn business has always had to work in a world of censorship, except for a very short while in Denmark. Otherwise like then Child Porn wouldn't be censored. Censorship is a fact and it's something we have to work with.

Also jerk off material has always been available. Before Playboy we had lingerie catalogs. Since the birth of the camera people have been taking nude pictures. I've seen frescoes in Pompeii of nudes and porn paintings.

Plus that site wasn't serving people who couldn't bill, it was serving countries that could be billed. And if they go the Tubes or TGPs, who gives a fuck if they don't buy?

1) You are an idiot, Paul. WTF was Russian police doing in KIEV ( U K R A I N E )???
2) The site owners have changed their host, so the fucking pirate site is up and running again. Check it by yourself: pornolab.net (now they are hosted in Lithuania, EU)

P.S. These bastards are real pain for many affiliate programs because they share complete rips of almost all adult sites on the Net. The majority of their seeds are from... guess where? Yes, they are from the USA.

What's going to happen to the people who ran that site?
Will they go to jail? Will they get fined?

lilith_pet 04-29-2011 05:19 AM

Mysterious Russian supercops appeared from nowhere in Ukraine and shut down pornolab... I'm cracking up :1orglaugh
