iPhone on Verizon?
 

Anyone have the iPhone 4 on Verizons network? I'm thinking of dumping AT&T and picking up the service on Verizon, but heard some not so great things about Internet speed with them.

Verizon weak point:

example, that if you are on the shitter and on a phone call w/ headphones or lets say speaker phone and you are trying to view a site on safari, (or use data using apps) you cannot do so UNLESS you are on WiFi.

True...but who cares? I do a little bit, but not much. The internet speed is a bit slower as well.


However, you get service everywhere, same price, and you can get an unlimited data plan.

Also, I thought my phone had malfunctioned after a month of owning it, and they were ready to replace it no questions asked. Good thing it only needed a hard reset.

I'm very happy with Verizon.

My girlfriend had att iphone for 2 years. She just switched to verizon and loves it. Says the internet is faster and calls are much clearer. We are in NY, might depend on where you live. I know ATT network here sucks. Other places its better.

She is happy with the move though.

im considering it. my phone is busted and AT&T will give me a "discount" of $549 for a new one because I'm not due for an upgrade until end of June.

I can sell my phone easily for at least $300 and pay the $225 to cancel the contract and buy a new one from Verizon for $300 with the same 2 year contract.

I drop calls in my HOUSE frequently with my current phone (before it busted). One second I'll have full bars and the next... nothing. browsing the web + talking I rarely if ever do. I actually had to think about it for a few. I've heard people around here talk about how Verizon 3G is faster than AT&T and I know they have better coverage in some areas and much weaker in others... still on the fence

Verizon 3G is faster than Sprint's 4G (don't know about AT&T). I am not kidding. Verizon 3G is comparable with a low DSL package... like 1.5MBps down and 768k up.
