1. "Stomach flu" - This is a classic on Friday/Sunday mornings after a night at bar.
2. "Car won't start" - Then they post on their profiles all day about being at the mall, etc..
3. "My babysitter didn't show up" - Another personal favorite
4. "Baby daddy didn't show up" - This has a lot of different combos with "baby daddy..."
5. "Power went out" - I guess this sounds better than, "forgot my alarm" or what not.

There are endless others from, "I forgot to do my laundry", or "I was half way there and forgot... ", also blaming shit on their ride. Whomever that was supposed to be.. roommate, boyfriend, whatever.

But my absolute personal favorite is when they do not show up, then later that same day hit you up asking when the next shoot will be or if you will pay them to fuck their feet/face/clam whatever because they reaaaaaaaaaaally need cash.

wow I can see models all over the world has pretty good imagination, because where we shoot top excuses are:

1. periods - fuck, it always come soooo unexpected! :1orglaugh
2. got sick, high tempeature
3. phone turned off

and by all means we try to avoid shooting on weekends (well at least for the first half of the day)

Rarely had a problem with no shows at I always did casting first. If a girl won't turn up for a casting she can forget about working for me.

When we booked a girl she phoned 24 hours prior to the shoot to confirm. Then very rarely got a no show. And never got an excuse. No point as we wouldn't work with her again unless she was a regular and they phoned up with the truth. For couples work it was a failed test, for solo can't remember a no show.

30 minutes to see if she's running late.

When I was shooting in the UK the Astral Blue videos it was fairly common to find a girl who simply couldn't come over horny enough on video. Shoot one scene and/or some Readers Wives shots and send her home. Sometimes a girl would have a period during the shoot. the craziest one was a girl who had PMT which made her very aggressive. She lasted 5 minutes.

The most often for a girl flaking was not good enough and I wasn't wasting my time and money on her. She didn't flake on me. :)

No, I rarely had a no show. In the UK prior to the Internet it wasn't that common. If the girl was flaky she flaked out on coming to the casting or said "I don't do castings" to which I replied "OK" which really meant F off.

Here we shot prior to this place becoming a center for porn shoots and the girls getting seen doing porn by friends on friends on porn sites. We also had a reputation for giving girls a lot of work and being good to work with.

We shot mostly new girls or girls we had worked with.

I have spoke to shooters here and they say the number one problem is failed tests.

You mean they actually call you with an excuse? We usually do our first shoots at 1:00 in the afternoon and we wait till 2:00 and go back to business as usual.

I am going to do well over 400 booking this year which more than likely is a much as anyone on this board.

This is what I did to cut back on the "flake rate"

We were having an issue with one agency as their girls were flaking about 30% of the time, they couldn't correct it and we stopped booking with them.

I praise the models who do a great job in board posts, my blogs, twitter etc; models love to read about themselves doing well and I feel models really do try harder on our sets since I make it known that we write about those that excel.

I started listing models who flaked on us. The agents were behind me doing this booking as having to rebook a scene caused griefs on both of us.

I make it known to the models that my four directors all shoot for other companies as well as mine.

We do all our shoots live and again make it well known how much an inconvenience it causes when we have to reschedule or replace them.

This is what worked for me and my company, it may or may not work for you.

Book girls from LA Direct If they dont show they pay kill fee and all expenses that occurred to no show
