Depends... a 5.56mm to the back of the head, exiting to the front could certainly make facial recognition very difficult. Several other bullets could have the same effect. Heads tend to come apart when hit with high energy projectiles.

Depends on the caliber, and if he was shot through the back of the head with the exit wound being his face, it's definitely possible for there to be no face, or no head. If you've never served, grab yourself some military grade rifles and take aim at something, you'll get a nice example of what can be done.

I haven't figured it out yet because some of the news broadcasts say he was killed by a drone bombing attack. Others said it was 2 helicopter of Navy SEAL's.
I will say if the later is true and it was SEAL's then a 7 man fire team consists of only 1 man shooting 5.56 (most likely). The grenadier is the only man carrying the Mattel designed piece of shit M16. The reason he has that is because the M203 grenade launcher easily fits on it and he doesn't have to carry an extra gun (M79) just to launch his 40mm grenades. The rest of the fire team will have 7.62 bullets probably shot from an H&K.
Even better for blowing the face of bastards like bin laden.
