Anyone remember Iran and the helicopters Carter sent in?

This could have easily turned out the same way.

Reportedly one of four helicopters on this mission was shot down...but my confidence level of initial reports is low.

It is now being reported that it went down due to mechanical failure.

kinda i suppose .. flying in with multiple layers of backup, sophisticated million dollars weaponry , armed drones for backup and the highest trained military into a shithole where people drink from puddles and ride donkeys to work from their huts made from mud one might feel almost bulletproof..

but hey , all that aside , i imagine it would still take alot of guts and i would likely have shat my pants and ran for home.

News flash...hot flying metal...is not aware and does not care...if the people live in a " shithole where people drink from puddles and ride donkeys to work from their huts made from mud"...it will still kill you...be it from small arms...mortars or RPG's.

With that said and in addition to knowing that if you are captured you may be beheaded...yes courage/guts is a requirement.

news flash , riding on donkeys is much more dangerous than riding in kevlar lined bulletproof multimillion dollar vehicles i.e. hot flying metal does care what it hits , it eats flesh , kevlar , not so much


does it take guts to get in a knife fight ? yes..
does it take less guts if you show up with an ak-47 riding in a tank to a knife fight ? yes
