Canadian Election Results --- WHAT THE HELL!!!

What the fuck!!! Liberals decimated.. The Block decimated... What the HELL did the NDP promise Quebec to get all those ridings????

What the hell have the liberals been thinking keeping Ignatieff as the leader.. Did they really not think that having a guy that spent so much time benefiting other countries and not his own country would make a good choice? That clip of him calling the US his country should have been a fucking clue to those morons. And no, I'm not a Liberal but I liked having the minority government.

Just shaking my head here in disbelief at the results tonight...

candyflip 05-02-2011 08:46 PM

Canadian politics makes even less sense than US politics.

d-null 05-02-2011 08:47 PM

minority governments don't get much done and have to go back to the polls too often, costing us huge money running elections, a majority of the stable and responsible economic policies of the conservatives should be good for the country

the Shemp 05-02-2011 09:05 PM

congrats to governor harper ...

Sid70 05-02-2011 09:08 PM

Thats why they extended refund period to 8-12 month, morons.

Who gives a fuck.... I don't like having a party that's only supported by 40% of the people completely in charge to do whatever they hell they want... History i.e. Libeals, PCs, have shown that it's never a good idea.

majority government is not good news... Harper is going to set back Canada with all his bull shit crime laws he will end up passing, who knows what else.

Shedevils 05-02-2011 09:20 PM

One thing that many Canadian webmasters may not be aware of is the Conservative promise to pass new anti crime legislation in the first 100 days of their government.

Part of this bill allows the extra-judicial snooping on people via the Internet, for any reason.

If I was an adult webmaster in Canada I would be thinking very hard about this right now as this is just the tip of the iceberg in regards to what Mr. Harper is thinking.

links crossed the US border

Welcome to Police State Canada 2011. Harper wants to make Canada look more like the US. I think Canadians have lost their damn minds to be honest.

Canada to start wars very soon

12clicks 05-03-2011 04:10 AM

What's a Canada?

BlackCrayon 05-03-2011 04:38 AM

the ndp taking over quebec seems to the major change...next time i think you will see more campaigning done there. previously held by the bloc, apparently no one really thought it would change so drastically and they probably lost out on a lot of votes for it. quebecers are over the whole seperatist issue i guess, which is good but i'm not sure why the ndp is their choice. many people who have never been in politics now have a seat in the house of commons. that will be interestng if nothing else.

i am pretty worried about what a harper majority might do..i don't want to see more of my fellow canadians in jail or die overseas for useless wars. the liberals need a leader that can appeal to the people. the conservatives and the ndp are two opposite extremes in my opinion..liberals have always been more middle of the road, which is what we need.

minorities happen because people don't like what is done when parties get a majority. this should be a warning to harper. go too far and you'll be knocked the fuck out like malroney was. minority governments keep them in check but the neither the governing party or the opposition will work with each other and make compromises, instead they bicker like little bitches and keep fighting for power taking us back to the polls time and time again. if they would just work together instead of fighting each other it would be the ideal situation allowing for a bit of input from both sides rather than passing laws that only appeal to less than 50% of voters.

Another reason why I'm glad I currently live in poverty stricken NE Thailand. You guys have fun over there with a police state, and all that jazz. I'll hang out here, and have a beer. :)

Thailand is so corrupt, I would fear for my life every day if I lived there...why people think these third world shitholes are somehow better because of the lawlessness, I don't get. Sure, i hate many of the conservative ideals but I'm not going to turn my back on my country because of it.

PR_Glen 05-03-2011 06:50 AM

you guys complain too much, things are going well for this country, electing someone new wont make things perfect all of a sudden.

any person who makes a living on the internet in porn who supports him is fucking insane.

people have to stop voting like their mommy and daddy and really think if that was a wise choice.

Why? I feel far more safe wandering around at 2am here, than I do in Canada. Get out of the tourist areas, and Thailand is a great country.

Nah, nothing to do with lawlessness, but many things. For example, here I actually know my neighbors, see them all the time everyday, if one of house cooks up a special meal we'll give the other a plate of it, etc. I lived in downtown Vancouver for about a year, and I think I smiled and nodded to my neighbors once.

That's just one of many things though.

that could be any rural area. of course it won't be like that in any downtown area. regardless, thailand is pretty corrupt, its a fact. cops are bought for a few bucks because everyone is so poor..anyways if you like it there thats great.

magicmike 05-03-2011 10:02 AM

Crazy the ndp won all those seats in Quebec, its funny all the students etc that are now in gov't.
