Porn performer Juliette Stray just tweeted about the sudden closure today of AIM (Adult Industry Medical) Healthcare Clinic. According to Raincoat Reviews, the Free Speech Coalition (a porn industry legal org) called an industry and member-only meeting last Friday to discuss Workplace Safety, Performer Testing. As you can see by Sarah Shevon?s tweet, only seven porn performers attended the meeting. Apparently at the fateful meeting, they quietly decided to abruptly close the clinic responsible for standardized STD/STI testing, health certificates and community testing enforcement in the mainstream adult industry. AIM was also used by non-porn people for its top-rate tests and fast results.

AIM has not issued a press release nor made any comment or hint on their website that they have closed. Disturbingly, their site AimCheck.net has been taken offline. This means anyone who had good tests can no longer access the test results or have them accessed ? the online proof and verification of having clean tests is gone. AIM?s Get Tested link is also broken.

According to tweets, it?s just sort of expected that people in the industry will ?just know? to get their tests from Talent Testing. This outlet has a turnaround of 4-6 days for results, as opposed to AIM?s results in 24-hours.

I?ll be updating this post when someone queefs out a press release, for corrections/updates, or when we get more information from the people affected by this. Many of you will remember that AIM was the center of the Porn Wikileaks database leak, resulting in the private information of hundreds of porn performers being hatefully published online in an attempt to harm porn workers. The data was mined, stolen and published directly from AIM by a porn industry individual. No word on whether the shutdown is connected to the Porn Wikileaks data theft.

AIM = Adult Industry Medicine it is our STD testing and doctor go to place.

We have used both AIM and TalentTesting. TT is just as fast as AIM ever was.

I also have no idea why anyone in the general public would have ever paid AIM to do testing since it's many times more expensive to have AIM send your blood to the lab as opposed to just going and doing it yourself?

Talent Testing Service will do just fine thanks.

What sucks is AIM had a station in Murrieta which is 8 miles from me. Now the closest is like 35 or more minutes away.

Ah I had heard about talent testing but haven't been tested in something like a year. I focus on my webcam studios I have here in AZ.

Is there much competition in this field?
Do the performers have an alternative or are they facing a sudden outbreak of STD's all over the place?

Talent Testing for the WIN!

I heard the FSC is now getting their feet wet in the testing arena. Should be an interesting cluster fuck to watch. Nothing I want more than porn industry attorneys watching after my HIV test.

Also heard Lawry is now suggesting a new TLD called .HIV that will infect all porn people's computers, but if you join the FSC, they will protect you from it. Anyone know the truth to this TLD rumor?

You mean ones that you can't get rid of like HPV and Herpes?

Word on the street is, they don't test for those because everyone in porn already carries the virus for both of them.

I say, man up, hike up your skirts and raw dog. Testing is for non believers. You just need to have faith that God is looking out for you and he won't let you catch the AIDS. It's time to separate the men from the boys and the whores from the wanna be whores, and get the job done.

I don't have herpies or HPV... nor does my husband... w have both been in the industry since 2003... Maybe you shouldn't believe everything you read.

Personally I think this sucks!

I for one think that choice is always good and competition in a marketplace can only keep prices lower. I have used AIM for years and they have always been great to me. I have never used Talent Testing and I am sure they are fine, but AIM did a lot of good for the industry. And they did it for a long time. Sure, they fucked up here and there. There disclosure policies were pretty weak but they never fucked up with the clinical side of their work and that is what really counts.

Kinda weird how AIM could do nothing right in the industries eyes.

Outside of the porn industry, it is estimated that 50% of the population who are sexually active carry the HPV virus, and 1 out of 6 have genital herpes. For women it's 1 of 5. For oral herpes, they claim around 85% of the population carry the virus. These are the numbers for people who don't have sex for a living.

Now imagine what the numbers are for sex workers.

Unless you only work with each other, it is statistically impossible for you to not have at least one of them, but you probably have both, regardless if you've ever had an outbreak or not.

And that doesn't mean you will have an outbreak, it just means you carry the virus. That is why they don't test for it in the industry.

Once TTS assimilates to AIM's closure, it'll be back to 1 - 2 day turn-around times.

Don't feel bad. Years ago, I was in a human sexuality forum and they were talking about CBT. I thought to myself, "It's good to see that they are teaching sex on a computer.
