Any "Banged Up Abroad" Fans?
 

Its basically a documentary (shown on National Geographic channel) with real life stories of people who have been arrested while travelling abroad, usually for trying to smuggle illegal drugs out of a country and have received lengthy prison sentences as a result. The original people are interviewed along with a reconstruction of the events.

This episode is one of my favourites. The story of Billy Hayes, whose own story was made into a hollywood movie "Midnight Express" in 1978 which some of you may remember.

fkn oath! So many favourite episodes... the traffiker that was declared dead then woke up on the autopsy table was insane.

Watched it once, some stupid guy trying to smuggle drugs and then it was a sob story about how tough the prison was in Thailand.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

Thread title confused me as I've watched many episodes in the US as "Locked Up Abroad", thought maybe "Banged Up Abroad" was the xxx version, lol.

Some of the most incredible situations are when people have drugs implanted into their bag. The way some people can be so naive and then do jail time for it.
