Where has all of the Money gone?
It's been quite a while since I did anything adult industry related. I started back in '99 and ran strong until roughly '05 where I had to quit sitting around and get out for a while. Here it is, six years later and the industry doesn't have the electricity it used to. It seems like most of us are still stuck back in that era where throwing enough traffic at something would get you a decent paycheck. It seems to me like the industry shifted, and no one really followed.
So, my question is, where has all of the money gone? Who's making it? I know personally that there are only two adult sites that I've every subscribed to and thats Mr. Skin and Suicide Girls. With all of the tube sites now, it's pretty pointless to join a pay site. My guess is that the general public just looks at what they need to to get off and that most pay site sales are only coming from the die-hards. The people that see a girl or a scene and they just absolutely have to see more.
I'm pretty safe on my side of the adult industry I guess. I really have nothing to lose being a designer. If I even knew what opportunities were lucrative in this industry anymore then I might branch out pursue them. Until then, however, I think I'll sit back, watch, and learn.
