What cereal is in your cabinet?

Right now I have:

Kellogg's Raisin Bran
Kashi blueberry clusters
Total blueberry and something or other
Post Shredded Wheat
Quaker Peaches and Cream oatmeal
Quaker Strawberries and Cream oatmeal

I love cereal.

CurrentlySober 05-05-2011 08:18 AM

Tanqueray, Bombay Sapphire and Hendrick's :)

Pseudonymous 05-05-2011 08:21 AM

I love my cereal too

Oatmeal Crisp - Triple Berry
Kellogg's Raisin Bran
Kelloggs Just Right
Quaker Peaches and Cream oatmeal
Quaker Apple & Cinnamon oatmeal

usually I have some cinnamon toast crunch lying around also

Oh and if we're counting oatmeal, I eat French Vanilla Granola too. Sometimes in plain yogurt, other times just in milk

Tom_PM 05-05-2011 08:22 AM

I'm completely out of cereal! Usually I grab one of those giant 60oz boxes of Life cereal, and some Total or some Raisin Bran.

CDSmith 05-05-2011 09:05 AM

Shredded Wheat
Raisin Bran (Post, with the two scoops)
All Bran
Special K Vanilla&Almonds
And a new one called "On Track", w/almonds and "a hint of honey", haven't tried it yet.
Couple of sacks of oatmeal

That's about it.

CyberHustler 05-05-2011 09:08 AM

Fruity pebbles, Fruit Loops and Corn Flakes. All the fake brands in the bags, but tastes like the real thing so thats what I call them.

Antonio 05-05-2011 09:11 AM

plain oatmeal

scuba steve 05-05-2011 09:19 AM

Yeah I used to go through so much milk and eventually got pretty sick of it.

So now I drink:

I don't like soy at all but I use lactose free milk, pretty good.

scuba steve 05-05-2011 09:37 AM

i actually used to put orange juice on raisin bran instead of milk haha

magicmike 05-05-2011 09:41 AM

cinnamon toast crunch

NaughtyRob 05-05-2011 09:42 AM

I love cereal too, usually have at least 6 boxes in there.

bronco67 05-05-2011 09:47 AM

Damn there's a lot of cereal threads today.

pornguy 05-05-2011 09:54 AM

Frosted Flakes
Bran Flakes
Fruit loops

I hate milk. I used to be a big soy milk fan, unil I tried :

http://babydickeysgiveaways.com/wp-c...nd-143x300.jpg

Almond milk is where its at.

Also the best thing about soy / almond milks is they stay good exponentially longer than real milk. If you don't consume alot of milk these are great because they stay fresh so much longer so you don't waste anything.

Oddly enough, lactose free milk does as well. I guess the sugar is what makes milk go bad?

kristin 05-05-2011 10:19 AM

You need to read the back of your cereal boxes sir. Kellogg's Raisin Bran has high fructose corn syrup in it. Horrible for you, and it was my favorite.

We have Life, Shredded Wheat, and bunch of oat/almond type cereals, some homemade ones and that's it.

Pornogoddess 05-05-2011 10:20 AM

I think I'm a cereal whore because I have approximately 40+ boxes at any one time. Usually at least 15+ are opened because I like a different one each day.

Favorites?

Kashi - Heart to Heart
Multi-grain Cheerios
Wheat Chex
Plain cheerios w/ banana
Golden Grahams
Rice Krispies

Kristin - Homemade? Do tell please.

I was told Soy Milk (unopened) can be stored in the pantry, doesn't have to be in a fridge. Anyone else?

Not sure that's true, I believe it says on my Silk carton that its good for 7 days after opening. It's good for alot longer as far as the expiry date goes (unopened), however it has about the same or less time after opening as regular milk

MediaGuy 05-05-2011 10:26 AM

Some brand of Apple crunchy granola cluster stuff, and Shreddies. There's usually Cap'n Crunch but they never last long around me....

Yep - unopened - though it has a much longer "shelf" life in the fridge.

Milk here is only good for 3 days after opening.

ottopottomouse 05-05-2011 10:48 AM

I don't have a spoiled milk problem. We go through two to three gallons per week.

Wow seriously? how come that is?

Tom_PM 05-05-2011 11:27 AM

I buy 1% milk and it's usually ok for a couple of weeks honestly. I figured it was the low fat content and buying the latest date I can find.

fuzebox 05-05-2011 11:39 AM

I haven't eaten cereal in probably 12 years... I should give it a try, I usually end up skipping breakfast because I'm too lazy to cook anything substantial.

ADL Colin 05-05-2011 11:43 AM

fruit loops
lucky charms
oatmeal

Yeah mine is good for about a week and a half, two weeks (3.25%). That's why I was curious when shellycrash said a soy milk lasts longer (7 days) and theda who said their milk there lasts 3 days.

HomerSimpson 05-05-2011 11:47 AM

I don't eat milk, so I don't eat cereals at all...

Agreed. I haven't eaten much cereal after I stopped drinking the real stuff. Just use the vanilla one for smoothies or by itself. I tried the reg one but was already used to the vanilla flavor and didn't like it as much. XD I was drinking the soy stuff at first, but I heard it wasnt great for guys to drink too much of it.

My favorite cereal used to be Apple Jacks.

There is a long article about soy in menshealth, here are two snippets from that article.
http://www.menshealth.com/nutrition/...gative-effects

James Price's breasts had been painful and swollen. It looked as if gum balls were implanted underneath each nipple. The slightest touch triggered throbs.

For Price, a retired U.S. Army intelligence officer who once flew attack helicopters in Vietnam, these changes were more than just physically uncomfortable. "Men aren't supposed to have breasts," he says today in a quiet Texas drawl. "It was like my body was feminizing."

A lean and wiry man, the breast development stood in stark contrast to the rest of his body. But it was not Price's only symptom. His beard growth had slowed, he'd lost hair from his arms, chest, and legs, and he'd stopped waking up with morning erections. "My sexual desire disappeared," he says. "My penis—I won't say it atrophied, but it was so flaccid that it looked very small in comparison with the way it used to be. Even my emotions changed."

...............................filler here.......................

"Of course, most medicines have side effects. And when you consume soy protein, you're actually courting the Mr. Hyde side of two natural drugs: genistein and daidzein. Both act so similarly to estrogen that they're known as phytoestrogens (plant-produced estrogens). Soybeans couldn't care less about human sex characteristics—genistein and daidzein may have evolved to act as chemical defenses against fungi and grazing animals. (They aren't very effective deterrents, apparently, since soy meal is widely used to feed livestock.) But when humans consume these compounds in high enough quantities, they may experience gender-bending nightmares like James Price's. What's more, studies of these phytoestrogens in leading peer-reviewed medical journals suggest that even lower doses—such as the amount in the 25-gram soy protein target cited by the FDA—have the potential to wreak hormonal havoc."

Edit: The guy was drinking like 3 qts of soymilk a day lol

I mix up what I have for breakfast, but when eating cereal, I generally go for Total, Raisin Bran, Cream of Wheat, or Oatmeal (Mush)...
