Poker players: Home heads up tourney

Having a HU tournament next week. Have had plenty of full ring tournaments but never HU. Looking for any advice or tips on structure.

Will have 16 players, $10, going to pay out four places, bracket style. The following are some of the areas I'm having trouble figuring out...

How to determine who wins third place over fourth?

Time length per limit? I was thinking 10 minutes, I want the whole thing to last maybe three hours so I don't want it running forever. Is 10 minutes to short? Full ring we do 15 minutes, which I think is too short.

Starting blinds in each round? First round will be 25/50. Winner carries over the chips to the next round.

Any other additional advice? Things to watch out for?

hmm, I am probably missing something .. but isnt it the same as with the soccer World Cup ? you have two semi finals .. winners obviously advance to final .. losers play for third and fourth place ? :2 cents:

Just have the last two that don't make the final, play for 3rd and 4th or make 3rd and 4th the same payout and just pay both of them without making them play again. 10 minute blind levels seems fine if you want it to move along at a decent pace. If you get 2 guys playing really tight, HU can take forever, so you need to be aggressive with the blinds.

I don't follow any bracket tournaments so had no idea, but yeh that makes sense.

Any suggestions on starting blinds per round? Starting chips as well? I was thinking either 1500 or 2500/3000, but that's only based on my online HU play so I'm not sure what common in home games.

lazycash you playing anywhere online right now? I found a couple other American friendly sites.
