Paypal Donations 101
Only charities can accept donations on paypal. It's also against paypal policy for people to accept donations on behalf of charities. Finally, the only way you can get a donation deduction is if you donate directly to the charity itself.
If you know anyone breaking these rules, turn them in to paypal. |
no one would be stupid enough to do that here.
|
fuck paypal stupid

I think you can take donations if you have a business or premiere account.
If you are not a 501(c)(3) non-profit, you are subject to the standard 2.9% + $.30 fee per transaction. Transaction fees are incurred by the receiver, not the donor. |
FROM PAYPAY WEBSITE:Let’s say that you are an animal rescue organization needing to raise funds to provide care for animals. You can easily add a donate button to your website and make it safe and convenient for supporters to give to your cause

When I was 15 I made a couple thousand hosting underground mixtapes on a home computer on road runner (balsy lol) and accepted PayPal donations for access to the downloads. Years before Datpiff came along. Actually I got in an argument with Airek(sp?) on iq69 about this, not surprising lol.

And you are wrong. Read the terms.

If true, the only people I would think would care are those trying to destroy competetion... and if you're compelled to run around being a punk ass lil cyber snitch on your competition, then it's probably not their donation button you should be worrying about.
