firefox a heaping pile of festering shit

What the hell has happened to this browser? I have uploaded the newest versions with no plugins on several different computers and it crashes constantly? I like chrome but I miss the addons with FF. Should I try IE now?

jigg 05-09-2011 08:10 PM

slow as molasses for me
I dumped it, use chrome and IE9 which is fabulous

Agent 488 05-09-2011 08:12 PM

use chrome.

machinegunkelly 05-09-2011 08:14 PM

Seems a lot of browsers are dropping the ball lately, at a crucial time.

Chrome will win more and more if the others keep screwing up.

FF is a resource whore, totally unstable.
Safari is 2nd rate garbage lately, and lost me a few months back due to it overloading my router
IE is well, IE

Chrome is going to pick up some steam!

plsureking 05-09-2011 08:16 PM

chrome has extensions and a great task manager but it is a memory hog. it will quickly eat up a gb of memory just having 10 tabs open. keep gmail open for 3 days and it will be using 350mb.

ff has been slow for years. even without any extensions. its just a heavy software package.

your best bet is to run chrome with no extensions. if u need extensions, open ff for a task.

i feel u tho. the browsers have all declined in quality..

Firefox is a heaping pile of shit since the latest upgrade.

I still can't open a new tab in firefox. Also get an error message asking me to download latest version each time I open and if I click yes... it fails.

Big pile of shit... I still use it bc all my passes and urls are saved on FF :(

Spunky 05-09-2011 08:42 PM

Tired of getting my search and email hijacked,I switched to Chrome and IE

charlie g 05-09-2011 08:43 PM

Thanks guys... I will look into replacing the addons from ff with chrome addons. Hate it because FF was so useful before the code crapped out.

KyZ 05-09-2011 08:48 PM

Why did you upgrade is my question? I find it funny that people upgrade the day it's released and complain there are no plugins.

Besides I hate the look of the new version, and they claim that it's "6x faster", I call bullshit

charlie g 05-09-2011 08:54 PM

Well, I had problems with 3.2 so I started the upgrading cluster fuck then. It seems every new version is more unstable than the previous:Oh crap

potter 05-09-2011 09:11 PM

what computer are you running?

Tempest 05-09-2011 09:28 PM

Try Opera.

SomeCreep 05-10-2011 01:31 AM

FF works great.

Emil 05-10-2011 01:40 AM

Chrome without the privacy issue:

HardlinkSells 05-10-2011 02:12 AM

I like opera

LiveDose 05-10-2011 02:24 AM

I dumped it a few years back when it lost all my bookmarks during an upgrade.

u-Bob 05-10-2011 02:25 AM

1. Don't use FF 4.*
2. Use the palemoon buids... it's firefox, but with 99% of the memory leaks plugged.

icymelon 05-10-2011 02:32 AM

my question is did they have move everything around. I'm getting used to it. but jezz

Aka_Bluey 05-10-2011 02:41 AM

Firefox with noscript addon, i like, not sure if chrome has an addon like ff's noscript?

that is their main problem: They focus on unnecessary design changes instead of improving stability and speed.

HomerSimpson 05-10-2011 03:19 AM

move to chrome
as for plugins: adopt or die

Don't laugh too hard. After I don't know HOW many years... I have made the switch to IE9 today. Honestly, it's fast as hell.

CurrentlySober 05-10-2011 06:08 AM

Play with the big boys!

We use IRON!!!

Babaganoosh 05-10-2011 06:18 AM

Your crashes are probably add-on related but still, firefox does suck lately. The memory usage is ridonkulous.

Chosen 05-10-2011 07:20 AM

Opera rocks :thumbsup

Give it a week ;)

I would suggest chrome, I dumped FF long ago. It was too chunky and kept hanging up on me, sometimes for 30 seconds or more going from page to page. Slow torture!

iwantchixx 05-10-2011 10:23 AM

im going to end up dumping FF soon too.. sooooooo slow after last update. retarded slow.. grabbed opera n just gotta get used to it n set it up how i like and delete firefox ..

Smells like chicken!

I have no trouble with FF 4 at all but am careful about add-ons and do not use tabbed browsing.

sojproductions 05-10-2011 10:33 AM

im a big fan of chrome, but lately the flash caused crashes are driving me insane, due to the built in version conflicting with the download version for FF/IE, won't be long before i'm back on IE

blackmonsters 05-10-2011 10:47 AM

Well this thread has taught me a lesson.

"when people call me an asshole for what I've told them, then just wait 3 years
and they will finally realize the same thing. So they don't mean it when they call me
an asshole. They are just fucking stupid and 3 years slower."

:pimp

:1orglaugh

DangerX !!! 05-10-2011 11:04 AM

O'rly? Add to this various tracking stuff from big brother.

also noticed some problems with speed in latest version

Internet User 05-10-2011 12:05 PM

FF 4.0 is pretty good.

You can customize it to look however you like. And it's pretty fast. Maybe you got an outdated PC?

96ukssob 05-10-2011 12:19 PM

im pretty heated too, WTF? all the plugins I used on a daily basis are not usable and no one has them available for FF 4.

damn u FF... damn u!

Its funny you should say that. Going from FF to IE is the only way to get everything imported into Chrome. LOL I'm all set for the impending failure!

Brad

AnimeFevers 05-11-2011 08:26 AM

The plugins I use still work for me.
