.xxx will kill itself

if they sold .xxx cheap (i mean real cheap) then people would buy. they could increase the cost later.

but to start bt selling .xxx at a high price will simply put many off.

and if take up is low, it will kill .xxx off. it will become the next .mobi

Dotxxx domains are a waste of money!

BlackCrayon 05-10-2011 05:23 PM

totally. their greed will be their end.

Add the fact that the industry is at a historic low point, declining revenues, more free content than ever. Why would we bother to pay 10x+ more to place all those extra restrictions on ourselves at the same time?

Alprazolam 05-11-2011 08:19 AM

the small guys are being squashed brujah. it's their plan.

F-U-Jimmy 05-11-2011 08:21 AM

If they sold them for 50 cents i would not buy them :321GFY

I'm kind of amazed with the price point they are initiating with.

I was chatting with someone recently about .xxx, and there was a suggestion to deny affiliate payment to those that push from a .xxx domain. Anyone wanna get Fattarosi and Silverstein and the boys in here for some feedback on that?

I have a bad feeling that this is not going to just go away. and for some reason I also think this fuck is going to get some new laws passed.

Rochard 05-11-2011 08:58 AM

Anyone who is going to spend that kind of money for a brand new domain name is an idiot. I have a thousand domain names; No way I want to increase my expense for domain names six times over.

Look at the retail prices in this Ynot Report (from yesterday's daily newsletter).

I wouldn't be too quick to assume that .XXX site operators will be permitted by IFFOR to link to/promote .COM sites from their .XXX sites. :2 cents:

After all, if .XXX site operators are permitted to link from their "responsible," IFFOR-approved and IFFOR-policed .XXX sites to .COM sites that aren't subject to IFFOR's rules and best practices, how meaningful are those IFFOR rules and best practices at that point?

This is a question that might just take care of itself, in other words. ;-)
