Real amateur videos illegal?
 

If a couple want to upload their amateur sex tape to a site for public viewing is this illegal because there are no 2257 docs? If so, what is the minimum info required for it to be OK? Full model release forms filled out, etc?

Couldn't they just create their own 2257 docs, thus making it just as legal as any other content? Or does 2257 not work as I believe it to?

Not knowing where you (or more importantly, THEY) are from...
I'm not a lawyer, but, all that is required (essentially) is for them to create their own 2257 files, and post where the records can be inspected by the Feds....

Clearly, there's a little bit more to it, than that, but there's nothing to say that they can NOT be their own "Keeper of records".

However, they should get actual legal advice....

It does sound a little ridiculous to make a surfer store records of their videos when they're just someone with a camera and an internet connection that want to post their videos, surely they have no idea what 2257 even is. Maybe that is why the "loophole" exists?

they are still considered "Producers" and are required to produce 2257 docs if requested.

if not, then a tube could have CP on their site(server) and claim that it was user uploaded.

2257 is a joke and if it had any teeth then it would have solved the tube issue long ago.
