sitemap.xml . Do you still submit it to google?
I find it faster to age domain, then point a bunch on inbound links to the site. 24 hours later its all there.

I don't... I did to jump start my networks many years ago, but got rid of all extras since. Proper link pointing works quickest and best for me for getting in the engines... sometimes same day google.

I do both.. good, quality inbounds + linking. Seems to be doing well so far. :)
