I don't know about bunkers and 2012, but I do pity those who are not planning for the future in one manner or another.

Food shortage, massive or nuclear terrorist attack, natural disasters, energy crisis, solar flares, collapse of your currency / hyperinflation... all very possible future events.

It is no secret that the world is running out of food while the population is growing. That isn't going to end well. Maybe it won't happen in our lifetime, maybe it will. Many experts think 20 - 40 years before the shit hits the fan. Others claim the world is just a few more large disasters from it happening. Who knows. But it will happen sooner or later. We currently waste 1/3 of the worlds food on fuel and other stupid shit.

i wonder how a bunker would protect you from the end of the world? does the bunker fly off to another planet?

I don't understand the need for a bunker either. Really, unless we're hit with giant asteroids or some sort of nuclear exchange happens, I don't see the reason for an underground bunker.

Having said that, if either or both of those scenarios happen, it will be those with bunkers who will probably survive. :upsidedow But for how long? I hope they have enough food and water inside of them, otherwise they don't do much good.

And what's the point of surviving 'the end of the world' anyway? People existed and survived thousands of years ago because that's all they knew. We've evolved (well maybe not where you currently live :upsidedow) to such a point that being cast back to some kind of stone age, without technology or laws, would kill any sane person's will to live.
