Last launch for the space shuttle Endeavour today at 8:56 am

This will be the last launch for this shuttle and second to last of the shuttle missions.

Weather is not perfect but so far all systems are a go.

I'm pretty far away but I'm going to try and grab a pic :)

You mean they finally finished the Transporter so they can just beam people into space and they no longer need the space shuttle? :)

Cool, then we won't hear about it again for another 10-20 years. The universe is just so fucking amazing.

Too cloudy in my position to get a visual but I could still hear it :winkwink:

The whole thing has Bad Omen written on it.

-wife of commander shot in the head in one of Big Dramas of the year; she is Jewish = double the value of the drama, she is a US Rep = double the value of the drama

- commander's ego so big that he is still going on his mission regardless of family crisis; commander's TWIN brother is also an adtronaut and was recently at the ISS

- worker at launch site either fell to his death due to safety issues, or he suicided due to nutcase issues or was suicided due to factual issues

- 3 delayed dates now iirc

- launch is on 5/16/2011 = 7 7 11, a death & drama play

- there is probably a lot more. if it blows up, crashes, starts to seem like a really bad, grade F, made for TV movie, then we will know more then. put nothing past them.

One more launch to go...then it is over...

Here's a pic I shot of the first launch, back in April 1981...
From an OLD slide (obviously) so apologies for the condition of the scan.
There are more there of it, as well as the second launch, if you care to look around.
I shot these, at the edge of the water, in front of the NASA countdown clock there at the launch site...

This is of the second launch, Nov 1981:
