Haley Reinhart ROCKED American Idol last night!

Haley came out with the first of her three songs and brought the house down with some Led Zeppelin.

How cool is it to see a young female artist get the Led out and sing it better anyone.

She trips on the stairs and falls but gets back up and keeps going. Judges don't fault her
for it because they know *hit happens and she shows her professionalism by her reaction.

If she was singing like that back in the days of Led Zeppelin she would've been a World Idol :)

BlackCrayon 05-19-2011 06:02 AM

i like how they flipped the image to try and avoid deletion from youtube.

I think she's going to win it. She did awesome last night.

Did you catch the part where Laura the country girl had a run in her stockings so she had to take them off and they showed her backstage with a makeup artist putting some stuff on her legs before she went out. So Ryan and her are now standing on stage and Ryan ends the conversation with " Lets see how Laura does without her panties "

:thumbsup :1orglaugh seacrest does a great job. i did find it odd that they showed alaina getting make-up 2x in-between songs.

James should have been gone a long time ago. He was cool and had a high voice and nice vibrato but his voice was very immature and he called himself a "metal singer". His voice is more like an 80s hair band singer, not the metal of today. His stage presence was great but the voice was not the best compared to so many of the others.
They were making a big push for him to win though by having Steven Tyler promise to sing with him if he won, and Zakk Wylde plying with him too.

That was not enough and he is now gone.

All 3 that are left are talented but the best singer (Pia) was gone a few weeks ago. Haley is the best one left.

btw - this is my first season watching this show.

im shocked at the men in this thread who watch AI :/

Hailey is great, but Lauren Alaina was picked as the winner before she auditioned. Don't you guys know that its all set up from the beginning?

It was good seeing you the other day. Marilyn watched it this season because she loves Steven Tyler and dragged me into it. I can't stand all of the bs in it and the ford and coke advertising and typically skim through most of the performances but I like to see the judges responses and the results reactions and such.

Tom_PM 05-19-2011 08:39 AM

If they would cut the crap and just have the contestants sing I could watch it again. I've flipped to it several times this season and only caught ONE performance, the rest of the time it was the jackasses talking or commercials or commercials within the show, or some guest performer (why!??) or some kids backstory that stretches all the way back to the 90's, lmfao. I can't do the format of that show from first episode to last episode, it's packed with too many peanuts.

The show could easily be an hour...and it doesn't need to be on 2 nights a week. It's all about ad dollars.

Some of these shows my wife watches -- I can't believe how long they are. Celebrity apprentice had a 3 hour episode. The biggest LOser is like 2 fucking hours. I can barely sit through a 2 hour movie, even if I like it.

So you want to see the last three contestants sing three songs each for a total of about 27 minutes of air time and the rest of the 90 minute show should be dead air with no way to actually support the production.

This just might revolutionize television :winkwink:

SykkBoy 05-19-2011 09:48 AM

Her butchering of "You Oughta Know" was horrible..made me change my vote to the smirking cowboy...

holy fucknugget...did i just admit to not only watching AI but admit to casting a vote?

and yeah I stopped watching AI because there is too much shit to wait through to actually see these people sing.... and no Simon, no enchilada. :upsidedow

But they have to get the contestants to sing these cheesy licensed songs I guess, to keep people watching.

Here's why I like Idol.

When I began shooting models many years ago before the internet I had to go out in the public and actually find them face to face. I liked shooting models because of my artistic side and I liked the thought of finding some clueless girl working in the mall or walking on the beach and knowing that she has what it takes to become a successful model. I liked that I could change the direction of her life from a cashier to a high paid, globe trotting model with fame and fortune and a life she never dared to dream of.

I have a really good eye for talent and in the time I was doing it I discovered a handful of girls that went on to a life like I described above. I could find a girl that had the raw look and know that with the right makeup and styling and a little experience she could become a star. My part was to recognize the talent, bring it out of her and then send her off in the right direction where it would benefit her the most.

So when I watch Idol I see that same process. I see kids from everyday life except they already have the dream. They start off raw, and are picked to the next level based on their raw talent and potential. As they progress they are groomed and over the course of the show you get to watch a transformation from that kid working as a cashier like I used to find to a music super star like Carrie Underwood all because of the American Idol process.

I'm always looking for the best path through life to get where I want to be. I always thought it was cool to point out a path to someone else if they don't see it for themselves. Regardless how the show is packaged or demographic its aimed at, I see someone's dream coming true and someone else has helped them along the way and I like it. :)

dyna mo 05-19-2011 12:57 PM

from 0 to 30 million people watching you sing your heart out in, what, just a few weeks? that's mind-blowing to watch.

Topbuxom Lea 05-19-2011 01:00 PM

Yea, even though she's from Wheeling IL (my home digs), Haley did butcher the shit outta "you oughta know" which was disappointing because she did rock the shit outta Zep. Why that slacker Jimmy what's his ass chose Rhiannon for her...I'll never know. That's the first time I thought gosh damn, this is a set up.

I like Scotty but I'm done with the cuntry boy shit...Lauren is so damn cute-simply adorable. So after all this rambling I think it will be Scotty even tho Lauren has a voice and is eye candy for Steven Tyler and Me :winkwink:

And don't think being lesbian is any different ya'll...I'm stuck sitting thru all the bullshit shows each week as well, just to keep the peace.

I freakin hate TV and the wife's got me watching DWTS, Glee, AI, Voice and umpteen million reruns of sex and the city. Then there's that new OWN network and other shows I have to be exposed to like Taboo on Nat Geo.

Thanks God she's in ATL this week and I can get some R&R and watch a few Cubs games here and there...in my boxers and wife beater of course...

Tap me another Red, I'm headed to the couch

-L

How cool was it for the Idol producers to let her Dad play with her on stage.

Last year he was probably dreaming of just playing a small venue live with his daughter and then last night he finds himself on stage in front of 30 million people. Another moment only Idol could produce and something that any mature adult can appreciate.

Tom_PM 05-19-2011 01:13 PM

I just personally can't "do" the 40 minutes of filler for each hour of airtime, that's all.

If I were to DVR it, I could "fix" it the way I like it, but there's only so much DVR and tv time per day :)

I hate the commercials too.

I DVR it and then watch later so I can FF through all the BS. It really cuts down on a 90 min show.
The hard part is getting around to watching it before running into any spoilers :thumbsup

this

however, this is the first season I know more or less what's going on and the name of the contestants, maybe I didn't pay attention in previous seasons (quite honestly I didn't give a fuck) but this season has talent like this show has never seen before. That guy Casey is already a star even when he's out, Haley will be a super star, James COULD be a star (I think he will win) but he has issues. That black ultra super gay guy might be a star if he does the correct steps and even Miss Piggy has a chance to have a great career :)

I also think Pia will have a great career, she was one of the most talented in the competition plus she is hot as hell, I'm sure she's already working on her first record while the other peeps are still fighting for the dream ;)

This year has actually been good because they had actual musicians on it. I loved Casey.

I do not 'get' Haley at at all. I don't think she even has that great a voice

Scotty is the answer to 'idol' out of the three of them. Casey and James were the ones I would personally have listened to though and since I am not the demographic, that is probably why they aren't still in it.

I admit I was watching when Pia was on... was quite disappointed when she got booted. Now I just FF the DVR and watch bits. I have to say the best I have seen has been Haley R singing House of The Rising Sun and the Zeppelin song. I switch back to Baseball afterwards to keep from growing a pair of tits.

I guess why I liked Haley so much is because she rocked and I'm sooooo sick and tired
of performances like the one Nicole Scherzinger did tonight and that crap Beyonce did last night.

Just get up there and sing dammit!

I miss the good old days and Haley brought it back with her Led Zeppelin rendition. :)
