The guy is a troll, and when he calls Social Media Experts Clowns he is talking about his self.

He is a Social Media expert...
He does exactly what "Social Media Experts" do. He denounces and discredits others in his field, denounces people that do better than him and how they can do better...

He is a paid arm chair quarterback from Banner ad sales.

He got 2 shots off on retarded business types. Wine and a lame Blog. Both of which is lame and not regarded as big business but mom and pops business.

Most that say they are gurus in sm really are clowns, it's just so many saying they're gurus... the .5% is just the few that actually put it off among the crazy amounts that pretend like they do.

Guy is crafty fellow, he's trading viewers for the attention he can send back later, prime example of what he does.

I've seen people though with crazy amounts of followers/friends, subscribers, a major following basically that hardly ever said a word, they don't socialize at all, they don't guest post, and they get more responses, faster, than those that never shut up and you see all over.

It for sure has something to do with the flavor/niche. If you're a media whore that dumps news on people, nobody expects you to socialize. Lots of things work that way though...

I've had a few beers with Gary on multiple occasions and he is one of the most genuine and insanely smart guy's you could ever meet. There's not much this guy touches that doesn't rake in bank.. It also helps that he loves helping people and will gives free advice pretty much 24/7.

Stop hating and you might learn some shit.

I've listened to him on a couple seminars, he's a rather energetic fellow. Without question he's an expert in what he does, and always lots to learn from people like that, at least for those willing to listen.

For those that don't know who he is, check him Guy on Youtube, he talks about all types of stuff, social media, people, business, wine... I'm not into Wine, but if you are they say he's a guru in that too, but I have no idea.

Thats strange cuz all I ever see him doing is hating on other companies and selling himself as a goto guy. He must of spiked your beer with something. Being a Commentator is certainly a high paying job no doubt about it.

He is the wannabe Don Lapre of the internet.

Those aren't bad things... he has a jump on experience and it's across the table, even more of a reason to listen to him.

It makes no difference where you come from or him, plenty of rich kids that do nothing and plenty of poor kids that have done even bigger things. It means nothing.... same with college, makes no difference.

i don't know him but just the fact of thinking that you are going to make a living providing social media expertise - when pretty much everyone is able to do the same and actually DOES the same - does not reflect too much of a smart mind to me.

Most are. From the job posting we have in the hiring section proves it. The inbox is now flooded with clowns who neither can follow simple instructions, and who really believe they know what they are doing.

Regarding Facebook, he's 100% right.

Around here social media companies pop left and right, and guess what, every fucking company/mid sized business is using them....it's not like BMW/Mercedes dealerships are going to manage their own facebook profiles. If you are not of facebook you don't exist.
Those companies are making big money for doing basically nothing.
