don't count your chickens till they hatch. It sounds like some of that money has been sitting a while and hadn't met the min for a check to be sent. I wonder how many of those companies still paying... Let me know which % rate of success you have getting paid from all of them.

Brujah is on the money, I did this recently and it was worth doing. Unless a program only sends checks, which makes it expensive for me to cash, I now go with the minimum payout in case the program closes shop or decides to change the rules.

Good move IMHO.

This is one reason I like getting paid by third party billers, everything gets aggregated into a single payment. Doesn't matter if you make 50c with one affiliate account one week so long as your totals exceed the minimum.

I discovered the other day that I was owed $160 from a traffic broker I'd been sending dribbles of traffic to for a few years and forgotten about. Requested a payout. :thumbsup

It's all about risk management. At one point I moved from cheques to wires with a particular program because I wasn't feeling so confident about their longevity. Wires cost a bit more but they have the advantage of 100% cleared funds about 48 hours after the program sends them; if a program went bust the day after I deposited a cheque then it wouldn't be returned as NSF for 3-4 weeks. Even worse if I didn't know and the 2 or 3 cheques I'd deposited in the meantime were returned and the amounts debited back from my account...

Hmmm good idea actually!

Jakez 05-20-2011 02:34 PM

I don't get it, how did you make money by lowering payouts, aren't you just getting the same amount of money but sooner?

Yes. It's a half-joke. I do that most of the time.

V_RocKs 05-20-2011 03:20 PM

Sometime around February I decided to do a thorough search of all sponsors I push that are still set to ePassporte... I had the same results!

Found somebody that hadn't paid me since 2006!

Jakez 05-20-2011 09:48 PM

Could anyone list some reason(s) you wouldn't want to set your account to the lowest payout amount? I'm sure it's nice letting it build up to one big check but I like to get what I'm owed as soon as possible, especially in this industry..

I liked going to the bank once a month instead of every week.

Adraco 05-21-2011 05:45 AM

Yeah, I can consider doing a bit higher amount to get a payout monthly, quarterly or with a few trustworthy ones even yearly. All to keep the number of transactions down, total cost of transactions to a minimum and so on. But it's a gamble I'm not taking with others than trustworthy ones.
