Which of these would be better for in the long term?
Running 1 mile, six times a day, (Once an hour...) or...
Running 1.5 miles 4 times a day, (Once every two hours) ? |
Neither tbh. You can do interval training for 15 mins a day that would beat that. If you know how.
I fucked up my foot in the army so I can only bike, but read up on it. |
lol, you probably can't walk around the block without shitting yourself.

I have a bad back, and can only walk / run... However, if what you recommend looks plausible for my situation, I will look into it. THANKS :thumbsup |
How about 3 miles once every other day instead?

I'm sure you know what I mean... :thumbsup Thats where I am in my weight loss... I can either run 6 times during the day for a mile... Or 4 times a day, for the same distance... But with slightly longer breaks... Right now, Im kinda playing with it. Taking my weight etc and deciding over a long period... But I wondered what predictions I could get from GFY... But like I say... BABY STEPS lol |

It still seems like over-kill to actually go out running 6 times a day. Are you after just burning fat? In that case you should do longer runs or do intervals where you run and walk for maybe 90 minutes instead of just spreading out 6 one mile runs that take what? 8min each?

I dont really know WHAT I am doing.. Hence this post... I can and do run 6 miles a day. Its on a treadmill, right next to my PC... So I dont 'Go Out' etc... I am just playing with different weekly programs. Hence te weight loss in the pics (Which is real) Basically, I cant do any free weights, cause of back trouble, but I can run or walk... So Thats what I do :) |

the best way to lose fat is via diet, not exercise. it's extremely difficult to figure out total daily calories when you are doing extreme exercise like running 6x a day. i'm not saying don't, but if your priority is to bust through a plateau you are stuck on or to just keep the fat loss going, the easiest and best way to sort it out is via your diet. then add in exercise. the amount of energy you need to consume (calories) to fuel 6 miles running a day to keep from bonking makes the equation hard to impossible to calculate. |
