ARGH! 5 hours later and the power is still off!
We got hit by a pretty powerful storm tonight and wiped out power for most of my area. Around midnight I went to walmart but they were closed because of no power so drove 20 miles to another one.
No generators, no portable AC's (need one for my office) and couldn't even find a damn can opener to mount under the counter. Worthless Walmart!!! Drained my laptop watching shows on Hulu with my wireless card now I'm sitting around waiting for my power adapter and LCD flashlight to charge in my car... Can't sleep without AC :winkwink: |

Sucks, having no power really makes you realize how much there isn't to do without it. And once it's back on you quickly forget even that. :1orglaugh |

The shitty thing is, I don't want to go to bed to only be woken up by everything turning on at once. Went off right after 7, we had the TV on, lights, etc. I can't believe how greatly two walmarts differed tho. One is older but has a lot more stuff while the newer one has a larger food area, fishes in tanks, large clothing, etc. Almost like they are trying to be a target and not a "bargain" walmart Got off the phone with the electric company and they said power should be restored between 2 and 10 hours... Great! |
Experience like this really teaches you to be better prepared next time.

Make sure you start your engine every now and then, or go for a short drive to recharge. If your car battery isn't brand spanking new then even a mild discharge will shorten its lifetime. I speak from experience: I killed mine by plugging in a laptop for about 4 hours, two weeks later it wouldn't even hold a charge overnight, even after a decent drive the previous day. |
damn dude you dont have a generator? damn
|
Hope they get it restored quickly.
